are you talking about the throttle cable on the transmission? you can goto a garage door or bicycle shop to have them extend it or buy the stuff you need to extend the cable (if thats what you are talking about) there isnt really a difference in turbo and non turbo auto transmissions... maybe sensors but thats it in my experience)

I'm running a non turbo auto with my GTE. For some reason the cable would not reach on mine neither, so I just moved it. Instead of going around the head I have it coming up from behind the head and over the linkage and it's working just fine. I don't have a pic but can get one for you tomorrow if you like.

is it bad to make the cables a little tighter so that when you just tap the throttle it responds better?

gtsfirefighter: so its going around the back of the head?
i think i have tried this before, it reaches i believe over the valve covers but for sum reason i think it could be stuck as it wont pull out when i yank on it .
or is a normal person not able to pull it out? o and yes i am talkin about that cable with the orange litlle rubber thing on the end for the trans
They have a very light spring inside the trans so should move easily.

I'll get a pic for you later when I get back home. Instead of it going up around the exhaust side of the engine I have it coming up between the back of the head and the firewall. That will give you a couple of inches to play with. You just have to be careful where you rest it over the throttle linkage otherwise you let off the gas, the pedal won't retract.
Give me a couple of hours and I'll take a pic and post it for you.

ij: alright i think it may already be retracted or its stuck
gtsstarfighter: thnx bro that pic might help alot
i can reach it to the tb i believe but it goes on top of the linkage on the valve covers and gets that stuff stuck .
i may have manual linkage on top of the valve covers are they different from the auto?

Yeah, I knew that. It's before the bead so it's not leaking yet. It'll get replaced but for now it's low on the priority list. :icon_bigg

If your kickdown cable wont pull out of the sheath that could mean that its hung up where it connects inside the trans. If you cant find another reason why the cable wont pull, you will have to drop the pan. The arm inside that the cable hooks to must be obstructed or the cable end isnt in its slot.
