LONG time Supra admire, first time owner. I've wanted a MKIII since the first time I saw one. I was always a fan of Supras since my parents had a MKII when I was a kid.

I remember a friend of mine had a black 1990 Turbo. He never really appreciated what he had, his dad just bought it for him. Spoiled.:3d_frown: Anyway he hit a curb, cracked a rim, and the car sat in their front yard for years, rotting away. I used to make me sick seeing that car. All because his parents were pissed that a new wheel was like $400 and he didn't care enough to fix it or take care of the car.

Time to time I still think about that car. It was the first turbo car I had ever been in and I instantly fell in love with the technology.

So fast forward a bit...

Currently I'm driving a 400hp+ 2005 Subaru STi. Blue and gold, 20g turbo, FMIC, 22PSI of turbocharged all-wheel drive goodness. God I love that car, and DAMN its fast, and DAMN it sounds the business! However, the wifey is preggers (IT'S A BOY! WHOOT) and she drives a 2000 VW Beetle. So STI and a Bug. Do the math.

Not that she asked me to sell the STI or anything, it was my choice. She was pretty shocked when I brought it up. lol. But I can't do 2 car payments on one income, so selling the STI and buying a red MKIII/2JZ swap I found on the board here. :D Oh yea, and buying her a newer SUV for her and the kiddo. :sarcasm:

So life’s not to bad, huh? I'm getting a turbo'd sports car I've always wanted, in my favorite color, even though it's at a loss of the STi :wtc:. I'm really looking forward to having something to tinker with again and restore. The STi is pretty much done, and perfect IMO. So there isn't much to do with it anymore, but just drive the hell out of it. :naughty:

I should have both cars for a few weeks while the Subi's is on the market. I'm definitely planning a photo shoot of the two cars together. Geeze, talk about car porn. :P

I'll be sure to post them up here when I do.

cool interesting story. well i know all about awd goodness my friend as I have an evo 9 pushing 440awhp on pump so I feel your loss but a supra is a great car to have in place of the subi. I have a mk3 as well that I am tinkering with. So until I have kids of my own those 2 cars will remain in my possession lol.

Well,

Things are progressing slowly on the MKIII. Still trying to get it from Huston to Dallas. Seems to have issues with highway speeds and overheating. Posibly a clogged radiator.

At any rate, I got some pics of my current ride. Thought you all might enjoy the pics. :D

It's on the market on a few of the Subi forums. Damn she's pretty when she's clean. :D

FMIC, bigger turbo, 22psi, 400hp+ish :evil2:

Hi, nice pics of your STI!
I happened to see your post and loved your story! Congrats! AWE!!
Hey, I dunno about the overheating thing with the MKIII coming from Dallas. Mine! @#$%^&* (check out my pics)
had coolant issues too which the coolant leaked into the pistons!@#$%^ OUCH! I am REALLY NEW AT THIS (engine part stuff and all). Luckily
I was able to get it fixed along with a few other minor things and now, it runs great! The odd thing about my situation, I never saw the coolant leaking had know idea where it was disapearing to??
I don't want to startle you but, that's my story on the overheating on the highway concern...
Let me know I am interested in the "Happy ending" to your story! Hope this will help if not I still wanna know how it's going along. By the way, I had to WAIT 'til my kids were old enough to get my first Supra Ha Ha Ha. The car seats don't FIT...ha ha ha However: I so get your passion for the appreciation of having and driving this nostalgic machine!!!!

Yeah your MKIII with a 2jz will blow the doors off your sti soon enough. Make sure to get sticky tires!
