Winglesss vs Wing, which do you prefer?

Me personally... I cannot stand the look of any wingless MKIV period. Every time I see one it just screams out "I need a wing! I was designed for a big wing!" to me. I love the MKIV's wing ( On a MKIV only anyway ), looks so fitting! It's kinda like taking the Wing off the F40.... you just don't do it.

So who's with me?

Depends on the rest of the car... I think black MkIVs can pull it off, with the right kit.

Now with a poll.... and I'm going to have to disagree with the cleaner look. The curve at the rear of the Supra looks like it was designed exactly for the stock wing... with out it, it looks out of place to me. Oh well, all a matter of opinion but I was curious how others felt.

IMHO, with a good kit, the MKIV looks awesome wingless. but i guess with good suspension/wheels you can pull off the wingless look on a stock body.

I think the stock Mkiv wing looks goofy. the trd is flipping hot though. Same with the Mkiii, the stocker is kinda lame, but i LOVE the kamari (or whatever) 3pc thats slightly more aggressive than the stocker. however, i love the look of wingless on both. I plan on going wingless on mine unless i can finda kamari.

You know what looks good with a wide body, a GT wing. Many people are anti GT wing but I love them when they are pulled off right. I am going to give one a shot on my MK3 eventually.

I prefer winged, but I'm contemplating going wingless. Only thing stopping me is the car would need to be repainted completely to remove the faded factory paint under the wing.

IMO Black MKIV's look effing HOT with no wing. But MKIII's wings are a requirement, not an option.

I used to think MkIV's only looked good with wings until i saw a wingless one, and i was sold. LOVE the wingless. But as it has been said some cars other than supras, it depends on the car for the wing.

If you're looking at pictures, it's the angle the picture is taken at, will pull off the good wingless look. For instance, the third picture of the red MKIV on the freeway is just a bad picture, which shows "the hump". The second one is just fierce!!!!!

The Tiger life link is another example of nice wingless MKIV (not feeling the gold rims though)

A good wingless look needs to be combined with a number of things, imo:
1. Angle of the muffler
2. Size of the tires to give you that "big ass" look.

I havetwo MKIIIs, winged(90 turbo) and wingless (92 NA black) I am leaving it wingless for now/it's the last thing I'm going to do to change the car. I want to see what the upgraded wheels and exhaust system do first, before I install the wing. I just love admiring big asses.

Bleh, the stock wing sucks. I despise it. No matter how you look at it, or what angle, it's better with no wing. The hump on the back of the trunk is sexy as hell all alone. No need to give the Jolly Green Giant a way to pick your car up when he decides to take over the world...

Not true, from strait behind it looks fine, as the wing blends in with the lines.

No stock wing on ANY supra (MKI-MKIV). Other styles allowed.

You can argue all you want, as it won't sway my opinion. ;) I personally hate the stock spoilers on MKIV's. I've seen them from all angles, and to me, every angle looks better with no spoiler. :)

IMO those pictures of wingless MKIVs only look good from certain angles. Any shots of the back end just look wrong and goofy. It's almost like saying "I'm broke and can't afford real mods but I'm dying to wrench on my car!" :biglaugh:

^^^Yum! I got hooked on black wingless mkivs after seeing one in the first Redline video. The one with the porsche-looking chrome "phone dial" rims. Take a look at Mellos old yellow mkiii if you don't think mkiii's can't look sexy wingless.

I dont like the look of a winglesssssss MKIV at all.... MODVILLA is doing that thin carbon fiber lip wing for the MKIV that I like.. Curtis has made 2 of them that are a little longer ... I think I am gonna get one and put it under my factory turbo wing...
