Anybody have any information about 7mgte O.E.M .05 over pistons.. The piston is stamped .50+, so Iam not sure if it is a .50mm over(.02) or .05 over?? I guess if anybody has a link for something like the sale of these pistons I would like to take a look, need info!

Stamped .5 would be half a mm or +20 thou.

The reason I ask is that Toyota keeps telling me its a .05 over, yet I cant seem to find any pistons for sale that are for a .05 overbore, so I keep telling them they are wrong and they just return the gesture!

Does anybody manufacture a piston with that large of a bore?

Iam trying to get all my information straight before I put the short block up for sale!

I've never seen a 2 thou oversize piston for anything.

.05mm = 1.9 thou

If it's a OEM piston it's marked in metric.

So if its oem and says .50+ its in mm and correct size should be .02 overbore...

Yep correct but as always physically measure them to be 100% sure!
(the machinst should do this before touching the block)

All is assembled just making sure I know what I have before I look like a liar trying to sell it!!

Ahhh I see!

Should be a +20 thou motor then! :)

This is the engine I made 350whp and 360ftlbs tq @ 11psi with, just did not know if a .05 over bore attributed to the awesome dyno #! Guess not!

I guess the balancing helped!

LMAO even the biggest oversize will add very little capacity to a 7M ;)
(hence power)

I'd put your numbers down to a good build with correct specs :)

I had this built before I new about SM:3d_frown:

Expensive, I could have built a forged engine for what I payed back in 99 for this one!
