I am in the process of setting up my megasquirt and am wandering on what type of sensor the gte cps is. I know it can be used with the version I am running, but there are two sensors in the CPS and wandering which on to set up and the name of it. For example is it a hall sensor, or VR?
Others with megasquirt can chime in whenever.

The MS systems I've worked on have all been Hall Effect.
The easiest way to tell is that inductive sensors have two wires (+/- signal), while Hall Effect sensors will have 3-4 wires...(+/- signal, 12v supply and maybe a power ground).

the sensors in the 7m cps are vr sensors.
look in the ignition section of the megasquirt manual for nippondenso cas, it explains everything.

I did not see it in the manual last time. I will check again. Thanks a lot, this really helps. I like this standalone section.

does the MS and stinger have a falling edge/rising edge select option that you can use to determine which you want to use?

In for comments on the final result. We're planning on running the MS 3.0 on our MKIII. cruisnhard, since you're near by, would you mind if we checked out your setup when youre done?

Heres the link for the MS2 extra on VR sensors, so yes the MS2 will support our stock cam position sensor. With the stock CPS sensor you can run wasted spark and batch firing. I'm going to look more into this after I have time and hopefully figure it out all the way =)

I have built, installed and wired and tuned a megasquirt on dodge neons before and know the general knowledge on setting them up so any questions arise I probably could find an answer related to your problem. Also and comments or ideas to help make this thread better would be appreciated!
I hope some of this helps!

Right now the car is running n/a with factory ecu. Once wired up it will be running the magasquirt with na-t, 440 gte injectors, and new fuel pump and 3 inch exhaust. I am just waiting on custom lines to mount the turbo to my na block. I also have a gte block in the works for a makeover. I just want the megasquirt running on a known good engine before I switch to the other engine, mainly for breakin of the fresh rebuild. So you may have yours in before I get mine in, but If I have it in and running I will be happy to help with anything I can. Even if it only consist of showing the setup in the car.
