Thats about all I can think of right now, time to bored you with the story of my car :D

Fell in love with Supra's while playing GT1, loved the A70 back then because it was a cheap car and won me lots of races, and the A80 because it could hit 400km/h+ on the test track :D. Over the years I dreamed of owning my own. After getting my P's and driving around in a VN wagon I decided to go on a mystical quest to find my very own Supra.

Was at an import lot on day looking at any black manual A70's. All of the ones there were non turbo and had faded and cracked paint. Decided that I didn't want something that would need a respray within a few weeks, was about to call off my search for one. Walking out of the yard I noticed another one, white, 5 speed and 100% stock. Took it for a test drive and loved it. Two weeks later I was driving it home!

My car in its new home, sadly I don't have any pictures of when I first got it, but this is how it looks now.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0651resized.jpg

Over the next few months I did the basic kind of stuff, got a head deck that could play cd's, some decent 18" wheels and new suspension. Car felt like it it was on rails. Car was a dream to drive now and I couldn't be happier. Then some time in June, my good friend rod knock decided to turn up on the way to work. Was good and bad because I always wanted to get rid of the little 1G(didn't deserve any pictures:D) but at the same time I wasn't expecting to do an engine swap so soon.

3 weeks later my donor car arrived, JZA70 that lost a fight with a telephone pole. Over the next 3 months the engine swap slowly took place, thanks to hopeless mechanics. During the time my car was off the road I picked up a few goodies.

600x300x76 front mount.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0389.jpg

3" metal cat from group buy.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0386.jpg

Titan Cam gears from another group buy.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0395.jpg

Finally got my car back some time in September, they didn't do thing how I had asked and for a few months this is what she looked like. As you can see the genius mechanics made the intake pipe foul on the strut tower...
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0452.jpg

Got some new seat covers made up, thanks Wolfie for setting up the group buy and Max for taking 4 months to make a gear and handbrake cover... These are my sexy front seats waiting to be put in.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0494.jpg

For a few months nothing else really happened, just enjoyed driving the car, after the new year I decided to start spending more money on it and bling up the engine bay a little bit.

xsjado
03-25-2008, 11:54 PM
Stage one of bling:D, red radiator hoses, strut and some new silicone couplers.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0576resized.jpg

Then I made quite possibly the stupidest mistake ever, took my car back to the same mechanic because my friend assured me that my car would get looked after there... Plan was to get new dumps fitted and get the SAFC-II tuned. HAH! good one. Got a phone call from them the night I was supposed to pick up the car, "Umm your bottom end just gave way". Long story short, it wasn't a bottom end, more like a blown turbo.

New dumps waiting to go on.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/Newy-pipeanddump.jpg

As you can see, they needed replacing.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0655resized.jpg

Notice something missing?
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0656resized.jpg

Just incase you missed it :)
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0657resizedlol.jpg

Made 218rwkw on fubar turbos!
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/deathrunpower.jpg

Finally picked up my car last Thursday, took them 6 days to change over a set of turbos... Replaced them with CT12A's from an engine with ~90000k's on it. The car is so much more responsive now! Feels a lot better to drive, although I have noticed a slight engine rattle... only heard it a few times now but it is enough to have my cry like a baby when I hear it...

Some overnight parts from Japan...
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/JZA70Rnocover.jpg

Bomex sides, rears and turbo a duct from Shine Auto. Amazing quilty, buy there stuff now!
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0542.jpg

And this is how my car looks today, exterior looks the same... Stage two of bling :).
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0643.jpg

Yeah has king springs now, I want to lower it a little bit more, but with the new front lip it will be about 5mm above legal limit. Although with my current exhaust I doubt that it really matters :).

Can't get enough of the Black and Red, just need to do the rest of the interior because it is all Maroon. I'd would like to go some Black wheels with polished lip, but I will probably end up with Work Equips :D.

Seats are made out of some leatherette stuff, seems to be good quality, is a little bit softer then real leather and looks just as good. The extra material should be enough to do all of the door cards and anything else that needs retrimming, and if I feel like it, my spare dash which has a massive crack in it.

MORE AWESOME NEWS!

Well not really, today my 1JZ went bang, not 100% sure what the cause was, was having the car tuned, started the run and about 1 second later there was a loud vacuum sounding noise followed buy a nice knocking sound, we couldn't find any hoses or piping that had blown off... Spare 1JZ will be getting dropped in, but I don't exactly want to put the ct12a's back on...

I can either have the turbos hi flowed and rebuilt with steel wheels($$ and small gains) or I can go single while the other engine is getting dropped in($$$ and big gains). I'm checking out a few different kits that I can go with, first one which I like is the MTR PT61 turbo kit found Here (http://www.manictechracing.com/pt1jtukitbym.html), or something along the lines of a GT30 or 35R.

Just wanting to hear from people using the PT61, I'll be aiming for 400+rwhp and response if possible, I know of a few people running GT30's, just want to get some figures from people running the PT61's.

Just needing a little bit more info on how these go on a 1JZ, but I know I will be going single because I will save quite a lot in labor costs. Hopefully have some updates and more pictures soon.

Time for a little update :).

Not much has happened lately, big end bearing went 1 week after I got my car back from dodgy mechanic, so my plans have changed for the car now. Car is off as we speak getting the engine bay resprayed in Black Ruby Pearl (206)! Thought I should get it out of the way now while the engine is out, also thought I'd get two birds with one stone and go single. Yay for more pictures!

WTF happened?! Someone stole my engine :( This is the point where I got lazy and let the panel shop strip everything else.

Plans for the turbo swap are:
Turbonetics GT-K 550 (T4, 3" vband, .81 A/R, ball bearing and water cooled:))
Turbonetics Raptor BOV
TiAL 44mm vband Wastegate
Drewgo Manifold
440cc injectors(for now)
Aeromotive AFPR kit
AEM UEGO
I'm sure there are a lot more things that I have forgotten, and I'm too lazy to figure them out.

Mum thought I might need launch control with the new setup, so this is my birthday present from Mum :D.

After 2 months of waiting and $350 in fees later I finally got my Turbo, Wastegate and BOV today. Turbo's exhaust housing wasn't ceramic coated like it was supposed too and they sent me a silver wastegate instead of red. I assume I can buy a new housing in red for the wastegate, anyone want to trade or point me in the direction of a new one? I will be making the company that fucked up pay for it .

This weekend I finished my frankencluster too, well kind off. I still need to find some gauges that will look nice and have a green backlight to go with the speedo and tacho. The tacho is from an early model GA70, I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me, I guess having those extra lines might come in handy...

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/IMGP0854resized.jpg

Just wondering if anyone knows where I could order a new clear cover for the cluster, MUST be RHD :). I'm too lazy to look right now, if someone wants to tell me that would be great.

I got the first half of my chromed parts, after getting screwed around for close to two months and been told last week everything was finished...

Not sure how many they made but Toyota special ordered a new batch for me last year on the Clear cluster cover.

Awesome, don't spose you have a part number and price do you? I'll have to give Toyota a call today.

Sorry didn't really pay attention at the time.

Don't let them pull the NLA (no longer available) shit ;)

Most parts are it's just they don't show in Australia.

Everyone loves the seats, I think whats happening in the engine bay is much more awesome :p. Thanks though. I'm tempted to ditch them for some Recaros or something else along those lines.

Decided I would copy and paste this from the Aus section because I'm too lazy to type it out again.

Well I got almost all of my stuff back from chrome now... Not very happy with the outcome. Starting with the plenum because it can look decent from a distance...

The TB I paid for to get chromed, notice the lack of chrome?

Coil pack cover supposedly done in black chrome, complete with spots that have been completely missed.

Still missing my ABS mounting bracket and clutch master heat shield... Think I might just cut my losses because it is too much effort following up with the tard who was given the job.

Time for a little bit of good news! Everything was dropped off on Friday and work started ahead of schedule on Monday :). Going in this weekend to snap up some pics of progress. Doing some shopping on Yahoo Jp lately and will have 2 new additions to my collection of parts soon :p.

HKS Hyper-D's, they seem to be ok and cost jack all so I can't complain. Should arrive in 7-10 weeks time (yes I'm cheap and don't wanna pay for air freight)

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/Xsjdao/qxjxm241-img600x450-12202653264b8nt.jpg

Genuine Abflug front lip, should land in about a months time.

Like this, minus the ricey orange splitter thingy. I guess my car will look similar to this one in the end, but with the Bomex rears and Turbo A duct, minus the whale tail :).

Every other aussie seems to be doing an update so I might do one too. Not much has happened though :(. Having clearance issued with the Drewgo manifold, was told it would fit on a RHD car which is not true, fouls on the brake booster big time! Also got my Abflug lip which came in the mail with a nice crack through the front of it...

Engine sat like this for over a month!

Finally dropped in last week(thanks Aj for the pics). I know it's a bit messy, will look much better with the rest of the goodies in there and a bit of a clean!

Thought it was time for a bit of an update. After a few issues here and there things are finally in the final stages. Once the car is started the ECU will be sent off to get updated to the newest software since it is a waste of time tuning with the older version software. Sorry for the pics the engine needs a bit of a clean :p.

Well it's all over now, got my car back last night! Made 327rwhp on a basic tune @ 15psi. Will be taking it back in 2 weeks to get the final tune and shoot for 400+. What can I say, after driving a Corolla for around 7 months and nothing before that it pulls like a freight train. Due to the design of the manifold the boost creeps up to 15psi, which it see's at around 4200rpm, hopefully less once they mess around with things a little bit more. Picture time, still isn't finished. Need to have my coil pack cover re done and polish up the intake pipe, which I started to do then got lazy.

Yeah it all looks nice but there is a long way to go. So many things that need to be replaced, cleaned up or removed. Really need to do the water lines and drain line with braided though... It just doesn't look as good as everything else at the moment. Just need money and someone in the states willing to take a big order from Jegs :p.

Majority of the A70's here are wide body. I was one of the unlucky few who didn't do their research and ended up with a narrow body GA70.
