Is their a big difference in the gearing from the w58 to a r154?
I have a 7mgte w58 and i believe a 3.9 rear end. I want to bring the rpms down. Should i change the diff to a 3.7 or is the problem in the transmition.
Thanks for the help.

i want an mk4 getrag so bad... 6-speed for highway cruisin...
and isnt the bigger difference in the rear end vs the transmission? because the n/a have the 4.10 gearing, and the turbo have the 3.73... right?
Very welcome Harry glad to help!

A Getrag ain't gonna help you alot in highway cruising if you don't have the 3.13 final gear ratio rear end..

well i had a 4.3 when i had the NA motor. I switched the engine to a 7mgte and the rear end to i believe a 3.9. Sooo im thinking im looking for a 3.7 now.

A lot is two words. Allot means to hand out. A lot is the opposite of a little.
"Grumpy" often engages in grammar patrol. Apparently not today. Yes, he is the man.

I will have to look it up. Seems like 6th is shorter than in the R154. Like .81:1.00 in the V160, instesad of .75.
Nick: It was late and I was tired ;)
