Now I have 1G-GTEU in my car (2,0 twin turbo), it sucks. I decided to buy 1JZ vvti from soarer (98 year)
I know how to swap, but I don`t know how to install wwti... have you got electric schemes?
A, just a curiosity. what is the price of 1jz gte vvti 15000km gone is USA?

vtec controller will not work. VTEC is an on/off switch where as the VVTi system is more complex and the ECU sends differing voltages to adjust the VVTi cam.

VVTI is a joke. If you really want it bad, buy a vtec controller. You'll have to disable it anyways once you start making more then 400whp..
I have a friend with a 2JZ-GTE VVTI in his IS300 making 440whp on stock twins that would beg to differ.

HAHA yeah the vvt-i 1 and 2j-gte motors are really good from what i hear. I've seen plenty of vvt-i 1j singles making big reliable power. Think its pretty much only the GE vvt-i motors that have the bad rod and compression problems

I've heard as in writing and seen as in pictures. Not in real life but on the internet of cars in japan. Don't remember where but the japs are way way better with tuning and modding these cars then any of us are. Don't get mad and start a fight just because of a variable valve timing 1J

Actually he has a point, on soarercentral they have more or less shown as far as im concerned that the 1JZ VVT-i is lame if youre shooting for anything decent numbers wise. 2J version, whole different story and I have hands on experience with one in tampa making great power even with the vvt-i enabled. Owner has deep pockets, of course..
Most find it much easier to disengage the vvt-i though if they dont feel like spending a shit ton on the valcon cam and controllers, etc.
As far as im concerned the regular motors are just fine.
