i was actually letting my friend drive but we went to a stoplight and there was this turbocharged civic revving and shooting his bov off *as i roll my eyes* and they are sticking their heads out of the window yelling "come on run me you dont have shit" blah blah blah

and i want to point out my car is quiet, cat w/ the hks resonators its silent heh and then the wastegate dumps (and its loud i love it)

so we take off when it hits green, my turbo spools its 1 bar at 2.8k rpm the wastegate does the rest of the talking and he is at least 6 cars behind me at the end of first gear (or better yet when i hit boost cut at 4.5k rpm) by the time i was halfway through second gear he busted a u-turn :biglaugh:

wasnt the only person trying to mess with me on my short 20 mile drive through the city but the only one i thought would be worth (the other was a multicolored trashed 80something integra and a neon or something)

i wish i had video of it but i was on the phone the whole time :3d_frown:

Good kill. I would'nt say civics don't count though. I know a few that will hand out a thrashing. It is part of the game though. You win some ..... you lose some. The whole idea is that you have something to race with. Good job on the build.

i usually ignore them but that time i heard the bov and of course being cocky. i havent tried my friends civic yet (sohc turbo, dyno 325 on a dynapack) his is a beast but i know i'll pass him up hehe

not yet, im running good A/F ratios though for now so i am going to wait on the tune until my next round of upgrades. found i have to use some pretty good clamps on my BoV i was surging pretty bad, now that the bov is on all the way and not moving i still surge a little bit but its a lot better... still need to fix it...

but your not out trying to race your honda against a supra either

my wife has a 04 honda accord that I drive to work and back unless its a real pretty day and im in the mood to drive the supra... but the honda is a family car not a race car...

come on man, I drive a honda... as a daily

i drive a '90 civic sedan as well... and eventually plan to swap over a crv drivetrain as well as a fully built b20 turbo powertrain using a vtec head stripped of all it's vtec components :evil2:

like i said, i've got a soft spot for most imports

the comment was more directed at fools who think honduh fwd vtec is the best thing EVAR

agree Lol. my friends D16 is quick... those cars are not meant to go fast and its very appearant once you pass 120mph

No hondas aren't the best thing ever but like anything else u spend money in them they will be fast.

VERY apparent... no way in hell would i drive a civic fast unless it underwent a complete overhaul (and had a cage installed)

the 90 sedan shakes and rattles @ 110 :aigo: and i havn't taken it up there in over 3 years now d15 non-vtec FTW!

pluss 4th gear and reverse went out, so it won't do over 65 now

his is non vtec as well, i am not too embarassed to say i dont know much about honda engines and i wonder is the sohc non vtec the d15? maybe he has a d15 ;) either way he doesnt really plan on making too much power... wants to build his head next.

but from what ive seen honda engines are either not reliable - or alot of people around here think nos is too cool to pass up

honda engines are unbelievably reliable, and there are 3 sohc d series motors w/ out vtec (the numbers refer to displacement) d15, d16, and d17 some of these come in vtec variations as well... on the other hand one of the guys i knew from VA beach had a 92 civic hatch w/ a stock bottom end d16 (sohc) non vtec, and he was making over 450 whp last time i checked... turbo of course, now those bottom ends are by no means meant to hold that kind of power, and i would never try it... i wouldn't tune it make any more than 280 whp on a stock bottom end

reliability drops drastically on any motor when 2 or more of these conditions are met
1. the motor's internals are stock
2. people run the shit out of them
3. people run n2o w/ out tuning their car properly

his must be a d16.

i would really like hondas more, but if you saw how the local people act... ive seen the stealing go as far as breaking into a garage by sawing out the wall... not to mention the denver impound is half full of hondas that are theft recovery (and a few that thought they could drift in the mountains an went into a guard rail instead)

Nice kill.
First race i had when i got my motor in was an auto mk3 turbo that i beat and a turbod integra that beat the crap outta me

Oh and 89jdm7m i hope you plan on using vtec pistons in your b20 if youre planning on using bigger cams such as the Toda vtec killers..
I also DD a 97 civic but it has a poormansR that i built in it. I love the 30 mpg
sorry for the jack.

89jdm7m
02-27-2008, 06:17 PM
vtec pistons? huh? there won't be too many OE parts in that motor, and the cams will most likely be custom... it'll probably be running on a megasquirt ems.... vtec head for better airflow, prolly use the t-66 when i get a better turbo for the supra. crv drivetrain... should be intresting, but i'm still waiting for the d15 to die

Didnt know what kind of build you were planning. Stock b20 pistons dont have valve pockets big enough for bigger cams. Why are you using an ems? Whats wrong with crome pro or hondata? You might as well get the block sleeved if youre going all out like that...b20 sleeves are notoriously weak and cant handle big boost.

I'll get off your thread's nuts now tlo lol soz

tl086- i will be moving to littleton, co soon or around that area. what city do you live in?

i want to continue my truck/supra wrath and build a lowered 4x4 2jz (project 4 wheel launch)...so i'll need a healthy competition.

i live north of there, about a 35 min drive north through denver - near the westminster/thornton area
