I will agree...In my days of 'driving like I stole it', I had my moments.

I don't race often on the streets anymore, rather drive like there's a cop behind me...
But with that out of the way:

To date, the best one I've got under my belt...

Heading to work about 6-7 months ago...Wide 4 lane road...Not a very busy road.
Pulling out into the road from a side street I see a shiny black front end about 2 inches from the ground. Pulls out behind me. What is it? Late 80's Lamborghini Countach.
(You know, the ones with the HUGE vents on the side that vent to the motor.)

Anyway, He's only doing 30mph or so, I slow down to give him a thumbs up....He smiles, nods his head, and blips the throttle. I just got my fat TiAL BOV on a few days before so I decided to "blip" the throttle back at him. Had to build boost so it took a second, meanwhile, this elderly man thought I was going on the gun...
So he downshifts into 1ST!....
Gets a jump about 2 cars...I finally hit full boost and with my turbo & exhaust screaming, I could still hear that loud V10 rumbling. :runaway:
The race only lasted what seemed a few seconds (Only got up to 85 or so)...
I ended up pulling him by about a car length before I let off and he flew by me.

I must say...Those cars are sex. :love:

Back in the day when I was like 17 years old, BPU upgrades, got handed to by a '93 Civic Hatchback with a big diesel turbo.
And most recently, A couple friendly pulls with an SRT-4 like I've NEVER seen before. :aigo: I couldn't hang with him if I wanted to.

Turns out it was a 10.XX car. :icon_conf

This one time, I was racing my buddy through some mountains. It was a tense race. I was on his tail the whole time. On the last turn, I was about to sneak up the inside by braking late and take the lead. Then the worst thing possible happened. It was tragedy for me

Coolest win was against a 04 WRX STi. he had me by 2 cars until I got to 3rd gear then stuck with him all the way up to 90mph then started gaining on him HEAVILY. [after 90mph that is]

Most embarrassing. Breaking my turbo while racing a pre 99 mustang cobra. It was stupid, I had no traction and I was winning. And I think I overspun or surged majorly because the shaft broke. hah

I kept the turbo, its in my hall of shame. Along with my headgasket. =p

AF1JZ i have the same problem no one ever tries they just ride by and stare.....theres only one SR 240 that even tested me and before i hit 3rd gear (boosting time) he bailed....later on that night his friend got up with me on a local forum and told me he got scared

Best= In my 89 n/a i was rolling about 40 mph next to a 63 impala ss with fifteens. he honked i looked and he went i drop into second and caught up. then his front tires start jumping two feet off the ground and we were doing about 60 or 70. my radar stated goin of so i stoped then the cop followed him and pulled him over. drove down the same rode that night and his car was being put on
a flat bed. so i guess i won that one.

Worst=pull up next to a stock looking wrx at a light and he revs so i held mine at
2500 and light turned green and i went. he was like two cars behind me when i looked back. and i was thinking this aint right. thats all wheel drive. we stop at the next light and i asked him what happened and he said he didnt want to spray my car with rubber. so we did it again and he took off like a go cart with
a jet engine.

I came to find out that it was a sti moded to over 550awhp.

Pulling out of soccer fields with my sons and a late 80's early 90's Vette pulls beside me and just scoffs at my car. He punched it and the car shifted it's automatic and I punched and hit the boost controller. Given the head start he took on me I caught him mid to late 3rd gear. Passed him while pulling 4th. Look on his face was awesome as I passed BTW. I finally lifted about 105 - 110 and got the car hauled in as there was a red light close ahead. We both stopped and he rolled his window down and asked me what I had under the hood and I told a straight 6. He gave me a look of disgust and wound his window up and ignored e for the rest of the light.

On the same note: Got my ass handed to my by a Stealth shortly after I got car with very little mods. in it yet!!!

I whipped some poor guy in a late 90s 'vette - started behind him at a light, we pulled in front of traffic, I went over an extra lane and pulled by him slowly. This was with a lot less power than I have now. The expression on his face was priceless - it took several seconds to pull by, and he was looking over at my car with an obvious look of WTF?

Got beat at the track by some stripped Honda civic. I screwed up the launch, figured I could reel him in after the fact... I was still trying as we crossed the 1/4 mile mark. Most of my buddies were at the track that night, too, so I had *lots* of witnesses.

OK so the first race i was in i beat a 89sohc-s13 and a 95dohc-s14 240sx....i mean my car is a boat and they thought since they had manuals they could beat me....we lined up.....Slammed it in low and took off, the s14 was about a carlength behind then i hit 3rd and i was gone. But now they are both going with the sr20's....I'm gonna lose that one. There is only so much you can do with a 3800 lb Targa Top Auto 7mge.....It's like the Fattest and SLOWEST of the MkIII's....i feel bad now....:[....But it's my Baby and i Love driving it every day.

For my first "race" ever, I went against my friend's 87 Prelude Si. Went from a 45 mph roll and continued to around 70. Right as I hit boost after dropping 3rd, he was already 2 cars back, so I thought he wasn't even at WOT. I just let off and slowed down.:biglaugh:

My worst loss was also my first, and it was to the same car. We were on a country backroad and started at a 20 mph roll. I went to ~5k in second, and the shifter popped out of gear in 3rd, causing me to hit rev limiter (slow reflexes? Yeah, probably should have let off the throttle faster). Sounded amazing, but I almost shit my pants. I lost, but I don't really think it counts. I guess I'll give him the victory just so he doesn't get depressed.:nono:

my 88 turbo supra against 06 scion tc full hks exhaust i ran 16.3 he ran 15.5, i was running on 4 cyl. and trans grind going in to gear, master cyl going out, got new plug wires and new master cyl. ran a 14.7 no new mods on tc 15.4 :owned:

well was the Mazda a 5 speed? and is yours a targa? If i'm correct the targa's weigh more....thats what i have....Though i will say that i did change my crank to a 7m crank instead of a 6m....Which the 7m takes longer to climb the rpms....well maybe somethings wrong i dunno...runs fine...

the 7m is only slightly heavier than the 6m hence the lower RPM rev limit. there should not be a noticeable time difference to rev between them

Was the other day getting Pizza for everyone at my work (More or less an excuse to take the supra for a ride) I roll up next to a Ford Focus (4-Door?) IF they make those..It had a ford emblem.

Anyways as I pull up next to them (Windows down music playing). They look over and laugh. (Even though I was laughing just before pulling up)

Worst Loss:
Eagle Talon 1G TSI. It's my buddies, he had a slipping clutch....I still couldn't get the damn 7MGE to hang with him past 3rd. >.< We raced from about a 50 mph Pull and he got like 4 cars on me with a good clutch!

I hate losing to that ugly box-shaped thing :O. One day I'll get him, with out boost. :D


My favorite Kill was a Black WRX. Seemed all stock but the kid had an attitude problem. Anyways I launched at about 2-3k and raped him..He really didn't know how to drive worth a shit. Some guy in a Dodge Pick up that happened to be heading the same place wanted to buy me a drink after \m/

These are from when I was younger and dumber.

Favorite races:
95 mustang gt 5.0L. That race only lasted to the middle of third gear. We shut down when I got a car length on him. Another favorite was a late 70's Nova SS with a 350. He pulled up next to me while we where doing 30mph. All of the sudden he stomped on it and pulled away. The sound of his car was freakin awesome. I had my girlfriend with me at the time and I didn't want them thinking I just got put in my place in front of her. (see above, younger and dumber) So I catch up and give them the nod. Again, that only lasted through third gear. When he caught up to me he yelled over, "That car is fuckin' fast!" I acknowledged that his was a pretty decent machine too.

Closest race with a win:
89 CRX B20 with 75 shot NO2 and a gutted interior. (Didn't know the details until after the race) I thought this was going to just be another honduh. He revved on me, I shot him the sound of the BOV. We take off from a 20mph roll and I noticed that he was still with me at the end of second. (Usually that is where most other hondas are already behind) So I go through third, look over........He is still there, but losing ground. Fourth gear. Finally shut down around 100mph or so with his front bumper and my passenger door. I had to give him some respect for that.

Closest race with a loss:
2001 S2000 lightly modded Vtec controller, Full exhaust, Intake, clutch.
We took off from a 20 roll on the freeway and we were neck and neck until I hit fourth gear around 100mph or so, then he started to walk away from me. I guess he was a car, or a car and a half when we shut down around 120mph.

Rolling down the highway doing 65 he pulls up and revs. I look at him and think im going to have my ass handed to me but sure.......i nod and slow to around 40. He revs and takes off...im 4 lengths behind him but im at WOT thinking please ACIS work damnit. I pulled him by 2 cars before letting off at 110. I have an auto but shifted manually. He rolled up and smiled.

Worst loss: 96 civic hatch almost stock but running NOS. Didn't know it at the time but this little bastard was quick. Sitting at the light he asked if my car was a mitsubishi. I laughed, then he asked if i wanted to run. I told him sure. . stayed with him till about 50 then he sprayed......It was 10 cars before i gave up.

not a good enough excuse (to me, at least), but that was at TGPR in 2006 when we ran in the rain. supras be REALLLLLLY heavy in the wet like that. I also ripped off the rear sway bar tab at that event.

well the day i went to take my car for a test drive from the original owner. the only reason i bought my car.lol i was pulling into the highway and this 07 LR3 range rover pulled up beside and just gave me a stare. then i slowly pulled away i didnt want to scare the guy trying to sell the car. but then once the Lr3 pulled up again and the guy was like just take him. soo i just took off i took the car up to about 140km/ mayb higher and i just left him behind me. i slowed down the lr3 rolled his window and gave me a thumbs up!! my first race with my car!!

this one was in my DD, a 92 honda accord. anyways it was a mile drag and a side road that leads into the local air force base. so it was a 1st gen rx7 with a 13b and a racing beat exhaust. we really didn't know what was all done to it but it had a re-worked ignition. so from the very start he flat out dusted me doing about 145.. so I got ate up and laughed about it..

haven't had any real fun in the supra yet. been looking for a place to live and a better job.

BEST: raced my bros 3000gt N/a 3.5L vs. turbo supra, we raced so many times it was rediculous, everytime we raced we traded paint till the end by one of us winning by a fender. Good clean fun.

Worst: this was with my 5.0L mustang, I had tons of goodies on it, heads, cam intake, long tubes with x pipe through flows, the works. Lost to a damn Mitsu 3000gt VR4, and it was STOCK! He got a sick launch(jumped two-three cars by the 100ft mark) and I couldnt real him in. Made me wanna cry. Actually made me sell the car.

Tonight probably was my best race.(so far) A 1995 chevy impala ss was on my bumper through as i was moving through traffic a lil bit. Not cutting anyone off like ricers, just smoothly passing through the open spaces. Once we moved past traffic and had the open highway, we lined up at about 60 mph, honked 3 times and it was on. I heard that auto v8 downshift into a lower gear and begin to scream while my n/a was already in gear about to be in its powerband. We remain dead even until middle of 4th and i would begin to pull away. We raced three time and they were all the same. For a car that weighs that much i was really surprised how fast it is. I heard alot about them, my next door neighbor even has a black one. Now i can talk trash to him now that i have some confidence in my cars ability to whoop his car's ass.

Worse race: Was to an evo. I cant explain how bad i lost. It wasn't even a race. He left me so bad that as soon as i got home I was looking at 7mgte's prices on ebay contemplating if i should take out a student loan to finance the swap, some bolt-ons and a lil bit of spray and just pay it back 6months after i graduate. Shit im still thinking about doing that.

win: At about 11:00pm, Some friends and I decide to drive down to lake ontario since we heard some car guys hang out there. We checked out the parking lot and everybody looked a little sketchy so we just drove through the parking lot and left. I was leading the pack of friends heading back home. A red 93ish? civic pulls out and follows us. He revs and tries to pull everybody in the line behind me (friend's neon, a civic, jeep and sawbladz's 88T supra) but nobody makes a move.

I'm driving in the left hand lane and he pulls up next to me at a stop light on the right hand side. he rolls his window down and checks out my car. I couldn't make out what he said but it was something derogatory towards me and my car and his buddy starts laughing in the passenger seat. I take off normally and he peels out. I countinue driving under the speed limit. it just wasn't safe to do anything... Although the roads were empty, we were still in the city. I continue and drive out into the country, everybody in tow. We approach a twisty section and I drop it down to third. I concentrate on what's coming up infront of me and didn't check my mirrors. I heard the civic downshift but I don't know what happened to him. thorugh only about 4 turns he was about 8 car lengths behind me.

I wait at the next stop sign (middle of nowhere now, farming territory...no traffic, no driveways) and he pulls up close to my bumper and revs his fart can up. I launch as best I can on the rough surface and he follows suite. first gear he lost half a length. second another one. third about the same and 4th he lost another. I let off and coast down to a reasonable speed and turn around to head back home.

Along the drive he passes me and pulls over on the side of the road putting his flashers on. I have no idea what he wants but I wasn't going to stop their...I continue and pull over in the school parking lot.

The owner and his buddy hop out of his car with a huge smile on their faces. He yells "yo! that thing single or twin turbo?" I reply "ha, it's NA". I can't tell you how satisfying it was to see his face...just as if somebody had told him his puppy just died....his face fell and he says, "what?" I try and educate him, "my generation is a mk2, turbos weren't an option". "oh". He then goes to tell me about his modifications: msd plug wires, NGK plugs, muffler, cold air intake and lowering springs only in the front....he's saving for the rear.

Loss: at the 1/4 mile track in cayuga. an acura legend with a blown headgasket, smoking the whole way down the track. pretty embarrassing. That, and losing to every other car that was there...excluding a couple neons, and a civic.

Worse: I have to say my worst race was against a honda...we had just pasted a cop that had someone pulled over so I was thinking hell no am I racing we get to a red light and the honda is revving up I'm just sitting there thinking what a dumb ass. he takes off and sure enough here comes the cop but here where it gets messed up, he starts to pull the honda over and I keep driving. then out of nowhere he desides he wants me instead I'm like wtf I didnt even race. in the end I get a ticket for racing that I'm still fighting today (this was in june) and blew my gasket trying to get to one of my court dates (since it was over a steep pass)...I lose that one since the honda got away

Driving my old Turbo Mk1 (5M-TE, don't get too excited) I pulled up at a light next to this champagne 240sx coupe with a big muffler and big chrome rims. I figure it's another lame teenager who thinks his S13 is the coolest thing since sliced bread, and figures he's a mad tyte drifter, yo. Instead, I look over at the driver -- an early-20s looking, reasonably attractive redhead. Oh my. Smirking to myself, I figure her boyfriend let her borrow his car, laugh, and take off when the light turns green. Not hard, because I didn't figure she'd try to take me, but all of a sudden, as I pull away, I hear the sound of a fart cannon revving up...ohhh, boy.

So, I punch it, the car shoots forward, and then a sinking feeling hits me; the lane I'm in ends just up ahead, and there's cars parked along the curb. I either have to get in front of her, or drop back behind her, and I was NOT about to let off to a stupid Nissan. Taking it all the way up to redline until fourth gear, I pulled about four car lengths on her, changed lanes, and dropped back down to a mere 40km/h over the speed limit -- plenty fast enough that she shouldn't slam into the back of me. But oh, oh no. She can't just leave well enough alone. She tries anyways! She pulls up right onto my ass, and looking in my rear view mirror, she seemed right pissed. She was tight enough on me that I actually couldn't slow down to take the left turn I wanted to, so I had to keep going to the next set of lights.

As I pull up, I kind of watch her in my rear-view. She's pounding the steering wheel, and swearing, and just generally being unattractive and not very ladylike. We make eye contact in the mirror, and there's a moment of complete stillness. I smile real big and wave a bit. Satisfied, I watch her slam the steering wheel with her fist again and mouth some very unladylike things to me. As the light turns green, I turn left, and she turns after me, shooting out into the right lane. I could not, for the life of me, figure out why she was that angry.

Then, as she goes to pass me, I hear the very distinct sound of a blowoff valve.

Worst loss? Uh, gee, I don't know. I've never really lost to anything really embarrassing. I guess a couple stock Civics with giant exhaust tips have taken me in the Celica. I tried to race a real, live Integra Type R in my 83 Celica GT once, that was pretty bad.

Oh! Heres' one you Americans won't understand. My 84 Celica GT-S, 2600 pounds or so, with a stage 2 cam and some airflow modifications, probably making a good 90rwhp. Canadians, you all know what a Smart is. The 2006 Smart Fortwo cdi, with what, a 750cc 3-cylinder diesel engine? Maybe 35 horsepower? 40 horsepower?

My best wins were 1) Some kind of convertible Ferarri. I was on my way to work and I was rolling about 70-75ish when I noticed a red Ferarri coming from behind. He had to be rolling about 80-85, slowed down, smiled and proceeded to pull off. I immediately wanted to wipe that f'in grin off of his face so I down shifted into 3rd and just walked the hell out of him. Once he saw that I had about 3-4 cars on him... he hit the brakes. SMILE NOW!!!!!!!!!! And the next one 2) One very nice Saturday in August, I was coming to a light when I saw a C6 Corvette breaking his neck to get in the front to go heads up. (easy kill, he thought). The light turns get and he gets walked about 2-3 cars and quits. Yeah, easy kill for ME!!!!!!!

I couldn't even tell that he was moving, then i thought i lost. Right when i passed him i think i was doing about 120 i don't know, but he was not going over 100 for sure.

Thats when i realized 240 suck really bad. (stock engine of course)

I lost a race once to a 91 Buick v6... 88 n/a with a misaligned rear end. Shittiest launch ever and i lost. The really funny part is later he blew he crap engine that was not running right. Very embarrassing for me lol

He caught me asleep and instantly got about a car on me, but as soon as the boost hit, I got that car back plus 1. We went from about 55 to ~140ish, nice long run, ending with me about 1/2 car ahead. He was cool older man, gave me the thumbs up with a big smile on his face.

Worst - Got MURDERED by a Trans Am with, no bullshit, 4 people in it. Judging by how hard he left, Id say he had a built auto and was spraying at least a 150 shot. He took me by at least 6 cars, it was pretty bad. Granted I was only at 10psi, but still, he fucked me up.

Havent been street racing considering that its winter in wisconsin. but before the snow came I was just cruising around on a friday after school and up ahead bout a 1/4 mile I see a very low red acura nsx. considering the fact that I have a stock turbo 5 speed supra I knew I really didnt stand a change. So I slow down to about 30 (speed limit 45) to let him pull out in front of me, come up next to him give him thumbs up, and as were pulling up to the light it stays green so we raced from aroll. he wasnt expecting it at first. so I flew by him at probly 110. after slowing down to race again he knew it was on, so we lined up and he gave me the jump, then all i could hear was a loudass supercharger and he was gone but it was fun and thats my worst kill.

The best kill I brought was some riced out civic si hatch(cabonfiber and everything). He flys up next to me a stop light, and you know those honda guys they think that their rev limiter is da bomb!!! so as the light turns green I take off normally as he is tire hoping and revs are bouncing off the rev limiter. and hit it in second gear and pull up past him like nothing!!! at the next light he looked super pissed and I told him that its stock...Haha

- Worst of the worst.... Tiburon. Was winning till aobut 120 then it stopped going any faster. Let off the gas and the car shut off. Started it back up and it was knocking so bad I didn't know if I'd make it home. Bastard flew past me during all this...

- Recently a riced out mustang tried to play. Dropped it into 3rd, walked on him, let off and walked on him a few times more. He was trying the whole time too.
- HD Fat Boy. That race rocked, took a left he was on my ass as we got on the highway and he wanted some action. Was pretty even up to around 80 then he slowly dropped off. Got a big thumbs up.

Um best race that i can think of was this SN95(mid 90's 4.6 modular mustang GT) and this thing looked and sounded built to the hill. Skinnies up front, no sway bars, rear DR's that took up the entire wheel well. Rear power cut off switch, Sounded like a prostocker. This guy come up and challenges my buddies 02 Slick n skinnied SS this car:

Well that car was a full bolt on built stalled auto, would pull the tires on the street, but off spray would only run low 12's high 11's. Well we started making fun of his mustang, and he got pissed and after i showed him what i had, he said hed run both of us for $50 each. well he wouldnt go from a dig with the camaro, so we went from a 35punch....rofl.. with my 4.30's out back thats 4500rpm in 1st brake boosting 14psi. We three honked and me and the SS pulled out on him about 1/2 a car, the SS pulled out about 3/4 of a car, but by 120 i had reeled him in and put my nose out on him, the GT was a good 1.5 car behind us. Came back and the guy was shocked, couldnt believe my car ran as hard as it did. especially since it didnt look like much from the outside. Ended up not only getting the $50 from him, but he bought beer, still hang out with him to this day.

best race was against an s2000. he pulled about a 2 lengths on we raced from a stop to about 50 cause i had a terrible launch, but then we raced from 40. I dropped down to 2nd and slowly pulled on him all the way to 85.
worst race was before i had ported my wastegate hole and i was hitting fuel cut so I had to feather the throttle. just had to get that out of the way. BUT i was getting off the interstate one night and onto another highway and i pulled up behind a civic with a big exhaust so i firgured it was some ricer so I pulled up beside them at about 40 in 2nd and gunned it. I hit fuel cut the first time but he still pulled on me before i hit fuel cut. so the next time we go from 50 in 3rd. Im feathering the throttle to stay at 8psi and he pulls pretty quickly on me. Umm wrong your thinking maybe of the Z06 C6, the regular C6 vetter is only a ~12.8@110 car, totally kill able with 370whp, hell prolly even slightly less. Especially if it was an auto, than that 12.8 goes away and a low 13 takes its place with a 108 trap. Hell i was trapping 107 with 291whp in my 7m.

Best Win: Modded STI, im on the freeway about to meet some folks for my high school graduation dinner. Rolling the supra at about 70 in what i would consider very light traffic. i see some big bugeye HID's and a huge wing coming around the clover leaf about to come onto my side of the freeway. i slow down to match his speed and i see the guy look over, our eyes meet and its on! i slam down into 3rd and being slowly walking up his door. shift to 4th, and continue to walk him up to about 130 where we both shut down, thumbs up are exchanged and my head falls back into the headrest as if i was just shot with heroine, euphoria ensues. At this point i had only had the car for a month and was still unsure as to just how fast it was, this was the race that turned me from a mild enthusiast to a hardcore supramaniacTM.

Worst Loss: Another night at the local races, parked in a lot where everyone meets to strut their stuff. A guy comes over looking very calm and collected telling me he has an RSX and would like to race for 20 bucks.
"why the fuck not? i've beaten em before" i think to myself. so we get in our cars and head out to race, keep in mind my windows are up and im in my own world not paying attention to the RSX which i had already deduced had an exhaust and intake.
This is where the mystery begins to unfold. After chatting for a bit and sending a scout up and down the road to check for traffic/cops, he asks me "do you want me to run with or without spray?" i figure why not take this money the easy way and run without spray, he agrees and a bit of apprehensiveness washes over me. Why didn't he insist on running with it? this little honda can't be pushing that much.....
we get in our cars. I put my windows down so i can hear the flag man and immediately notice something strange about his engine note.... can't figure it out....then it hits me, there is definately what sounds like a minature helicopter under his hood, at idle you can hear blades chopping through the air.
3, 2, 1.....GO! we are off and i am launching brilliantly, the rsx bogs a bit and begins a very slow spool (he must've spooled for a good 5seconds) but as the helo under the hood spools up i see an RSX badge and tail lights flying by me as if it were an f16....GG Snotcycle.
We pop hoods and exchange money, his car is dyno'd at 650 FWHP i find out, and he can actually drive it to boot. the turbo was no joke THE SIZE OF A FUCKING BLEACH BOTTLE

i had a bit of fun with a vw gti (like a mk3 gti i think? rice pipe and chiny rims, anyway...) the last time i drove my car... blew off at him on the highway home late one night, and i was spooling enough to blow off at him again, and he took off just as i was letting off. went from 4th at about 75, and by the time i really built any boost, i noticed him slowly pulling away, and i wasn't catching up...

sooo... jam it in third, scream past him, throw it back into 4th, look down, realize i'm doing about 135 or so, look behind me and notice i'm probably 10 cars past him at that point... even after i slowed back down, he wouldn't line up with me again haha!

that was pretty much the EXACT cause of me blowing my head gasket, i think... so, it's kinda a win/lose story :)

I've only been in one race since the rebuild. I pulled up to a stoplight next to an older body style Mustang on my way home from school. It was late, I was tired, and I wasn't paying attention. Apparently this guy thought I was looking at him because when the light turned green he took off for all he was worth. He caught me completely off guard and I got a horrible launch in first. He was about a car length ahead of me when I shifted into second and I was just pulling even when I shifted into third. That's when he backed out. Damn it. I tried for a rematch but he wasn't having it so I went home with a tie.

My worst loss was about a month before my build up. I went to the local dragstrip, before they closed it down, just to see what the car would do. The only other import running is an old Civic SI hatchback. When I pulled up to the line, guess who's in the lane next to me. Light turns green and that damn things takes off like a freaking missile! He ran 11 something and completely handed me my ass. I followed him back to the lot to see what his mods were. It turned out he had a turbo the size of my head and an ego the size of my car so I called it a night and went home with my tail between my legs.

The Good: back in the day when my car actually ran (7m-je pistons, megan dp, hks intake, 9lbs on blown turbo) I was just taking my girl, her cousin and niece on a nice cruise up the highway at night because i loved my car and wanted to drive it whenever i could. Top down on a beautiful summer night. I'm just cruising when i see an evo come up along side of me, it was very loud so i assumed it had full exhaust, maybe even other work. I noticed it was some dude with his gf in the passenger seat so I hit my superb greddy BOV at him to let him know what was good. He down shifted as did I into 4th (about a 60 roll). Then he gunned it and pulled a good length or 2 ahead of me, I then gunned it and was quite pissed cuz i knew i could have been in 3rd. However, once my measly 9lbs of boost kicked in, i started running up on him and before i shut it down at about 110, I had him by about a fender. Needless to say I felt well accomplished.

The ugly: August 7th, 2007. Me and my girlfriend were going to visit her sister. And i was on the same highway as when i took out the evo. I'm just cruising (top down ofcourse) minding my own business when i look in my rearview to see a black neon weaving in and out of traffic. I knew who it was (some kid who lived near me who thought he was cool) So i decided to mess with him. We were in some traffic so we exchanged jumps. I pulled out of the traffic and he followed. I remembered about the time before when I should have dropped it into 3rd, so i instantly did so. I then waited for him to try and get the jump on me, so i mashed it. I was quite surprised because he was about at my door the whole way. He then gave up and turned off at an exit. A few miles down the road I feel a great surge. I quickly turn the radio down to hear an obnoxious rattling coming from the engine bay. I pull over to see the trouble, I knew what it was but i just didnt want to admit it. So i went to my aunts who lived near by and tried to put some oil to only hope that it wasnt too late. Unfortunately it was and i had to drive home with the rod knock.

I later talked to the kid at a football game and found out that he had a t3 turbo on his car. But the fact still remains that I blew my motor racing an everyday neon.

heh, that^ reminds me of the night i blew my head gasket... racing a gti jetta. nothing special, just a shiny exhaust tip and even shinier wheels... did the whole 4th gear pull until i realized he was outrunning me, so i dropped to third and oddly enough, didn't hit fuel cut.

after messing with a "proud" v6 mustang owner (had 3.8 badges and all!), i realized something was definitely not right... oh well. just now getting everything back together, wouldn't surprise me if i had rod knock too, even though i caught the bhg early and all... :p

Best so far: i was leaving the shop one night and i had just fixed my lower intercooler hardpipe, apparently it keeps popping off (but it's fixed now! :icon_bigg) when this EVO IX sweeps through traffic. i'm minding my business not really paying attention when he comes up beside me and honks 3 times. by the time i figure out he wants to race, he's off. so he slows down and meet again, i signal to him and honk 3 times, and we're off from like 15mph. we stay even all through 4 til we decided to let off. i didn't beat him, but he didn't go anywhere either. so to me, it was an accomplishment. he said he had an intake, exhaust and a boost controller. i thought he was BSing about the boost controller because his girl looked at him wierd.

worst: my buddy and his bolt-on queen, EVO IX. when he first learned my supra was up and running, he wanted to race me. so i say what the hell, just for shits and giggles. at this time, he was at only about 475 to the wheels. he gave me a 3 car lead. we hit it from a dig and i'm still ahead through most of 2nd, then through 3rd, he comes flying by. now, he's at like 6XX IIRC. i'm only at maybe 300, maybe :nono:

The wife and I were going out shopping for curtains, true story, and it's a cold crappy night out and we're in the STI. We're doing 55 in a 45, and some early 90's BMW passes me, loud as hell... My wife just goes 'what was that?' and I told her it was a Beemer. So the guy slows down, revs up and blows off a few times and we hit a light.So the guys revving at me w/ his little buddy in the car making some stupid ass face and I get the shock of the whole day, 'just do it and get it over with' so I wait for him to take off, spinning of course, and he backs off, so I calmly pass him as the light ahead was changing to red. So we wait for this light to turn green (it was a little 'friendlier' to what we had in mind) So I'm sitting there after the light changes to red on the side street holding about 3500 or so, light turns green and the guy never had a chance. Never pulled, never inched closer, and goes flying by me as I turn in to bed bath and beyond.

The wife let me do it, so maybe it is a best. Plus, I made the guy look like an idiot... trying to race me in the rain. :nono:

Worst: I was sitting at a light minding my own business and this guy in this Grand Cherokee pulls and asked if I would like to go at the light. I agreed because hey its only a Jeep right. Well I never even stood a chance. I spun through most of the intersection and by then he was 2-3 lengths ahead. I then read the small small far away print that said SRT8 on the back. I backed off and went 10 below the speed limit to put myself and my ignorance to shame.

I was on my way to work this morning and this guy pulls up next to me in his truck and he was blaring his radio loud as shit and it was making me mad, But i took off when the light turned green and i wasnt trying to race but he got on it so i said , why not?, so i kept going and he got a little ahead but i was staying with him. I dont know what the hell happened cause i am completely untuned and only on 9psi pretty much stock everything but an exhaust and just small little stuff here and there but stock intercooler and stock turbo. I know it wasnt a kill cause i wasnt in front but i thought it was pretty sweet i kept up with him once i was in 4th. after that i just let off and continued on my way to work.

Would like to update my best kill and my worst loss as they both happened this season at a supra meet...

First off my best loss: Was at the Springfield, Mo supra meet about two months ago. Just got my JDM 2j twins on the car and the car was running very well. Ended up running my buddy Josh in his Black 94TT 6spd, car ran 11.9@119 on stock twins, 18psi on race gas.. Im running 14psi on 93 untuned on the JDM twins. Well we pull next to eachother and slow to about 40 or so, we hit off and i spin like mad, im fishtailing so badly that i nearly fishtail into his supra, but even so by 8500 in 2nd(~70) ive pulled out on him a lil more than 1/2 car, shift to third spin a bit than watch him just slowly inch up on me til about 120-125 when we let out he has me by a nose.. Im impressed i knew what his car ran and knew that he was running race gas, and yet i held my own quite well. My friend following said that when we hit off you just saw both rearends squat about 8" and through 2nd i just left two thick black lines on the road, and my ass end was all over the place.. Now my car had Zero exhaust, car was basically running off the o2 housing at the time, afterward when we pulled along side, he just looked stunned at my car, and yelled "Your car.... is LOUD"

Now my best win was just before that weekend, i had literally had the car together maybe a total of 24hours. i Was out playing and trying to get the boost controller setup.(which i never did hence the stock 14psi) Well after giving up im driving home and i pull up next to a fairly loud 02 Camaro SS auto. My car is not ignorable, and as i drive past i give her a lil gas just enough for the turbo to spool... he bites. tries talking to me while driving down the road but i cant hear him, so when we stop at a light he asks whats done to it, i tell him that i have stock twin turbos, and a motor swap, he tells me that hes got a stall and full exhaust. He wants to go from a dig and i oblige. We hit off and i just spin like mad. he gets maybe 2-2.5 cars out on me through 1st, i hit second softer in hopes of saving some traction but once boost hits in 2nd it spins..but i start pulling on him fairly quickly, when i shift into 3rd im at his back bumper, and the car just pulls strong and flys past him, i shut down about 115 and i have about 2-3 cars on him. As i let off(and this is at night mind you) my car backfires and from what he tells me a ball of fire lit up the underside of my car followed by two or three more pops on the coast slowing down. Said when he tore off past me off the line he was really confident, than in 2nd when he heard what to him sounded like a jet on takeoff comming up towards him he said" i knew i had fucked with the wrong import"... ended up meeting him again a few weeks ago at the Sonic on thursday night and he gloated and told the story about my car to all his buddies.

well ive only had my car for a short time and have only raced 2 of my friends. a 88' 2 door jetta w/ straight pipes and a v6 firebird w/ flowmasters and an intake.
i raced the jetta from a 5mph roll because "his clutch is messed up", on the 3rd bomp i was gone. i let off at about 80 and he was at least 8 cars behind me lol....he claims to have missed 2nd but i dont believe him haha. not a big win just thought it was amusing.
then i raced my friend with a newer firebird lastnight, he was about a car ahead of me while at a 30mph roll then he took off so i downshifted and followed. i wasnt really trying too hard, i was shifting at 4k and still walked past him, i was at least a car or so ahead of him then i let off at about 80 and he kept going? im not sure why but he still wont admit he lost hah :nono: also not a big win but at least i proved myself

I wouldn't tell anyone not to race because I find it hard to say no, but with gas at $4.10 cents a gallon. I'm not racing any v6 firebirds unless they're willing to race for gas money. Good kills though. I can't wait to start killing cars with my new 1.5 once it's broke in.

only time I ever put her down against someone on the street was a couple days ago.... hit a red light next to a late 90's rusty honda accord. I was minding my own business, had all the time in the world and green light came he squeeled off. I slowly met up with him at the next red light. looked at him and laughed, light turned green and he squeeled off again. I waited till he was about 5 car lengths ahead of me flipped the profec b to high boost setting 12psi or so(my car is pretty much stock with stock ct) and floored it. it was a cold rainy drizzly day about 60degrees and just as I got right next to him I hit fuel cut like a mofo. my car jerked violently, but I didnt let off. it hit fuel cut about 4 or 5 more times, car bouncing like crazy. I let off the gas I switched the profec back to low 8psi or so and floored it again. he never cought up with me and I let off and turned after just doing about 80 in 30 zone. good thing there werent any cops. :) wonder what he thought when he saw my car jerking like that?

I pulled on him hard and he said he wussed out and called it quits. Both cars are AWD, so I don't know what his exscuse was. Both cars have the same 1/4mile times... but it's v10 vs flat4...

week or so ago around 1am I was picking my gf up at work in her car, a 1993 chy concorde 3.5 saw this new eclipse and provoked a race, from a 40 roll to 100 before calling it a win I pulled the whole way, then for a light till the guy got pissed and turned off the parkway I pulled again even from a dig.

not bad for a 4dr lux car... that and it seems the new eclipses suck. had my gf laughing the whole way.

There is a yellow 03-04 Cobra here in town which is nice to see that there are a few real contenders, being that pretty much everybody in town drives pickups and diesel trucks. Other than a couple ls1 Camaros, there really isn't anything I see around here that would actually play with me. I KNOW that Cobra will though, he thinks he's hot shit haha...

Trucks are funny like that... Just because they have v8's, or turbos (in the case of modern diesels), they all think they're fast. Sadly, about all you need to have to be the fastest thing around here is about 600whp, no joke.

Most people around here can't drive all that great anyway, so if you know what you're doing, you can get away with a lot less ;)

I will post my worst loss first. Raced a modded 04 or 05 STI . I instigated the race and he pulled onto a left turning on ramp to get onto the highway. His pace around the curve was amazing. I was in hot pursuit and I started to drift in 3rd which was pretty scary. We get on to the highway and we start from a 40mph roll. By around 105-110 I lost around 3 car length. He gave me thumbs up still. At that time I had initial signs of a bhg, 60 trim CT-26 , 10 deg clip no cats, stock ecu 11 psi .

My best was also on the old setup where I walked on the top of 3rd gear on my friends 03 E46 M3. He was shocked . He got me twice before in the instatorque so was feeling pretty confident but I was hitting the fuel cut at 17 psi . I lowered the boost to 15 lb and the rest was history.

Since I have my turbo swap the SP61GT and rebuilt using forged engine internals and new head and head gasket I have not had a chance to race, anyone. Actually no one has yet had the balls to pull up to me. I try not to race on the street but I also like to take down v8's with big egos. But on the old setup here were my kills:

idk, it seems that golf owners are jerks. I think it was last month, I was on the highway when this turbo'd golf pulls up next to me. the guy driving isn't really doing anything but his gf in the passenger seat just stares at me like the sun's in her eyes. he pulls up next to me and we hit it from about 50ish. Me being pissed off, I instantly floor it and forget that i hit fuel cut. D'oh. So a few seconds in third and it hits and they fly by. So the gf is laughing her ass off and i signal to them that i want another go at it. we line up again and take it from about 55ish. I take the whole race @ about 3/4 throttle, just enough to keep me out of fuel cut. I instantly started pulling from 3rd gear and put some good distance on them through 4th and started cruising in 5th. I tap the hazards and slow down for them. not one look.

EDIT: I guess my worst loss happened last night. As I was leaving work, I noticed some peculiar tail lights. It's the R35 GT-R. the third I've seen. anyway, i wanna check out how bad he'll rape me so i stay with him and we hit it from about 35ish. He gives me about a second head start I'm about 5 cars away when i hear him take off and fly by me. the next light comes up, i make my left and he keeps going straight. I hate those cars but damn, they're fast.

If it was a new tundra they are fairly fast for a truck if they are 5.7. Most likely you raced a 5.7 if you saw .7 on the side. The come in V6, V8, 5.7V8 and thats how they are marked on the sides.

cruising the highway doing 60mph and i see lights weaving in and out of traffic behind me. One of the new gti golfs or whatever they are blows by. traffic causes him to slow and i slowly catch up not expecting anything. im in the far left and he is in the middle. i inch forward to see if he will bite and i hear him down shift and his turbo spool and he takes off. im still new to the car so i slowly downshift to 3rd and slowly get into the gas. now he is a good 3 cars a head since i have yet to even take off. i passed him in seconds like he was sitting still, the guy had no clue what the hell just happened as i blew by lol. felt good and slowed to give him a thumbs up, a-hole wouldnt even look at me.

i only raced my car once, lost to a v6 mustang from a 80 roll on the high way, i have a n/a 233,000 miles auto tranny, 2.5 cat back flowmaster and air filter. i was going to stay n/a but after that i'm boosting it!!

Best: Walked a mustang down the track a few weeks ago after he was giving me the redneck my-mustang-is-the-sweetest-thing-since-the-mullet look all through the staging lanes.

worst: a few years ago, on vacation, with my brand new girlfriend in the passenger seat, getting blasted by an early 90's 5.0 mustang, primer gray and beat to hell. she laughed at me....a lot. :(

Most Fun: Coming around a bend on the highway at 120mph and seeing the look on the cops face as he pops his head up from behind the radar gun! He threw his gun in the car and hopped in, I went from 5th to 3rd. This piggy was gonna earn his donut today. He flipped on the rollers and came after me, I took the next exit off the highway, he followed. I went right, he thought I went left. Last thing I saw was his lights in my rear view headed the other way. Now thats a rush.


Nice job. I had the same experience while living in Dallas. I was in the middle lane between two trucks and he heard my bov as I was accelerating. Saw him put the radar gun away turn on his lights. I took the first exit and the the rest was history:)

My ride: 87 Mk3 turbo, nothing special just gutted to around 3200lbs with me in it and new injectors, wires, plugs, intercooler and ct26 (normal trim).
Bests:
1.Late 80's camaro IROC-Z (by 1 car length)
2.Late 80's corvette black and killed me in 2nd but i came wayyyy back in 3rd
3. my favorite one night i pull into a gas station and my buddie rolls up in his new wrx he thinks is the shit, the only thing hed got on it was some pirellis and a 3" all the way back, well, some of our friends watched me dust him like he was a honda i take out like every night. Satisfaction :icon_surp

Worsts:
1. 2006 some clean ass jaguar supercharged 4.4 that spanked me like a pouty boy on time- out.

Some wog in his dads E46 M3 convertible is revving the shit out of it and it sounds like its about to blow, so me and a freind who is riding with me creep up on him and I let him know that I am there with a turbo flutter. He looks over, I say to one of his mates (his car was fully loaded 4 people) how many horsepower, he asks the driver and one of his mates in the back yells out 400, I tell him I've got 280. I didn't think new m3's had 300 let alone 400 but I still wanted to see what would happen, we come out of a two lane round about side by side, I am in second gear, boot it, the tail comes out a tiny bit, all I can hear is his car twanging to shit , I hit 3rd and sail past quite easily. He wanted to go again , but I didn't want a bar of it.

Worst loss - that race is the only one to date with my turboA.

i have a few good ones and a funny one

about a week after i got my car back from getting the 1JZ swapped in i was in a caravan with a few supras and i didn't really know my car well so my friend and i (he's got similar mods to me but his is 7M and auto) go from a 60 roll, i put it in 4th and walk all over him

a few weeks later a guy (now my friend) with an 06 350Z was acting like his car was the fastest thing in the US so i raced him and in 3rd i pulled on him HARD but idk what happened and in fourth he walked away from me

a friend of mine's auto 300ZX TT...i talked shit because it was auto but he raped the shit out of me from a 40 roll

then i raced a stock s2000 because he was talking about how he doesn't think anybody could drive his car and i said that most of the people at the meet drove faster cars anyway so he shouldn't be worried...so we go from 40, i was in 3rd and on the 3rd honk i was GONE...looked like he was standing still. so then at a light he tells me to go from a 20...this kid was in fucking first and i was in second so he got a jump but when i hit 3rd i flew by him

last (and probably best) real race was my friend's 06 (i think) cobalt SS supercharged with an intake and exhaust...i seriously only had him by a car or so and he stuck with me...i was impressed


now for the funny ones:
on the way home from sonic with my mom riding shotgun...we were at a light and a probe pulls up next to me revving like crazy, so my mom says "show him" so i let him go a little and didn't launch but got on it in first then once i threw it into second he was way back

on the way home from cheesecake factory with my mom (she's a cool lady) i merged onto the highway and my stock BOV went off and i guess the SUV next to me heard it because all of a sudden i hear them get on it and cut into my lane (not cutting me off though) and throw the hazards on....i could not stop laughing and i flashed my high beams a few times to show that i understood

I raced a ss cobalt also and it was one of my closest races. We raced from about 65 four or five times and I won everytime while taking off in third. I could have went to second, but didnt' feel I had to. His car was impressive to me, but he was in f%ing shock when I kept walking on him......:aigo:

His girlfriend kept laughing at him. I guess it was his first loss. My wife knew I was going to win, so she wasn't too impressed with me............:cry:

Hmm... reminds me of the time I had to put an SS Cobalt in it's place. Neither one of us launched, but I could tell he wanted to go. Soon as I heard him get on it seriously, I let him have a bit of space... THEN I played catch-up :p

Might have just been a bad driver, I dunno. I figure he spent $20k on a boring car, when he could have spent half that and had something badass, must not be all there in the first place haha.

was rolling with my crew on the long island expressway, a dude stunting in his mazda rx8 was tryna keep up with his,, im still n/a (man do i miss my boost) so i said fuck it lets see how bad the rx8 will rape me, i never ran one be4, Lined up 50mph side by side did the 3 honks, stayed even until top of 3rd, in 4th started walking away from him, im like wtf i thought they were fast? and in 5th he gave up.

I new they were slower than the last gen rx7 but i didnt think the rx8 was that slow

I whooped up on a 90 AWD DSM yesterday at lunch. He started messing with me in a 35 mph zone. We took off and as I started pulling on him, I lost traction about a half a car ahead of him. I let off so I wouldn't lose it and he kept going.

Then we ended up on the highway and again he wanted to go. We hit it while at 55 and I left him almost like he was standing still. It wasn't even close! I slowed down and as he passed me, he gave me the 'Thumbs Up' solute and went his way.

Not the best kill; but, hey! He started it and the 7MGTE finished it! :D

Best races...

Me vs. Trailblazer SS from a 50 roll...pulled a car by 100MPH, before some of my newer power mods.

Me vs. 01 Cobra(Exhaust, CAI, etc.)-35 roll...first race, pulled after about mid 3rd to 115ish then, 1 length. second race, same pull but had about 2 cars at 115. Bhamsupra witnessed this race from behind, he called it an exhaust symphony. It was a great race, I was proud of my lil GT.

Me vs TBSS- same outcome as before, pulled everytime.

Me vs Charger R/T(exhaust, CAI)-this guy was about the worst racer ever. I let him have the honk and the jump. He would put 1/4 car on me cause of the jump. Around 85-90 I would pass him hard. I would stop around 120ish because he kept losing more and more. Then he would blow by me and keep going faster and faster and get like a mile up the road and wouldn't let me stage him again. I guess he was mad. Oh it was a 60 roll.

Me vs. New M5(exhaust, rims, CAI)- This was I think my best race. I thought I had no chance. I had my GF with me and he had his wife with him. His car looked freaking Bad Ass!!! SO I pull next to him. We knew what was about to happen. We raced 3 times. Outcome was the same. We raced from about 55 and went to 130. I pulled at the low end of my gears and he pulled more on the high end. I had about half a length till 120 and he started to catch up. Im talking inching. At 130...I stopped. We both agreed eachothers car was a worthy opponent. So to 130 I had a M5.

Me vs Bhamsupra-I will let him tell you that if he wants.

Worst race was also the coolest race ever!!

Me vs New Lambo LP640...wow this was cool. I still had a slippy clutch in and was driving down US280 which is 4 lanes and 6 lanes...stop lights...during the day...etc. Anyways I am sitting at a light and all of the sudden this brand new White LP640 pulls up beside me. Typical middle aged guy. Sounded like a freaking F1 car...BAD ASS!!!!! I was like...shit...clutch really isn't holding. I knew I wouldn't beat him, but I wanted to keep up to hear that thing move. SO I slowly leave the light...shifting at like 2k, not wanting to race or go fast due to clutch. Well right as I go from 1st to 2nd...VRrrroooooooommmmmm...Oh DAMN. AMAZING. I punch it...and it was music to my ears. I lost horribly but was unprepared and wasn't expecting it. Lost by like 12049823450947 cars haha.

I have had several wins, to stuff like stg 2 cobalt ss, new vette (non-zo6), Eclipse GS-T, then of course those random guys trying to race you in trucks and shit lol. (I fear the turbo diesel though, that's serious stuff there.)

Anyway this was a loss, over a year ago. It was to a new GTO all blacked out that cruises this area( trying to find him on the goat forums), with some gauges, and apparently open exhaust (it hurt my friends ears really bad when it took off) I have no idea what it had done to it, but I thought on the back it said LS2? any way, it pulled on me so hard from a launch it nearly pulled the tires off, and the car was just all TWISTED it was awesome. We did a couple pulls from a roll and I did much better but still no challenge at all, we get to the light and he yells at me hey how much boost you pushing? and we were like I dont know the gauge only goes up to 8! he gave me thumbs up and we cruised a little more. I was prolly pushing around 17 or so on a upgraded ct-26.

ok so i was leaving work 2 weeks ago i was just driving a neon with an exhaust rolls up starts reving it up i start laughing he wants to go i looked at him rolled down my window i told him he wasn't worth my tyme left the red light he throws a coke bottle at the supra (yea i wanted to knock him out too :icon_evil lol) so i race him beat him by 3 car links i saw him later that night at the local hangout spot i asked him what happend? :naughty: he drove in and drove out.

my worst loss was wen i raced a mustang gt off a red light pulled the hole shot up 2 car links blew out my tranny he beat me and now talks smack every tyme i see him its horrible. :cry:
