i'm all the way north over by mountain home mine is strickly a toy nothing more. so it sees the road very little.

Mine is one of two toys as well, gets approx. 2500 miles a year put on it. The other toy is a 84 MKII P-type which is actually my wifes secondary vehicle. She puts approx. 1500 miles a year on it.

I never seen any MKIII's in AR yet..i from Ozark, Ar. I've seen a Black mk4 in Alma and a white and a red mk4 in Ft.Smith.

I am in Fayetteville, I just bought a 87 Targa Turbo last week. I saw a maroon turbo, 89+ I think, in Springdale last week, it was really nice. Mine is rough, but I paid next to nothing for it and I have it running now. I have a boost leak I am pretty sure, but I wont have time till next week to check the intercooler piping. But I plan on having it running this summer.

Storage......I keep mine inside unless weather is clear,but I do drive it in the winter. Nothing better than a drive in 20 degree weather, the car seems to pull much harder. But you have to watch the forcast and dodge the sand/salt they put down on bridges

Yeah, we should get together with the OK guys, doenst sound like it is to far for most of us. I was over at Hallet Motor Racing Circut (about 45 mins west of Tulsa on 412) today. I didnt take my car, in its current state it would be useless on the track, but for like $125 you can run in High Speed Touring. Basically its just "run what you brung", bascially a 4 15 min lapping sessions. Its a real challanging track too, almost every corner is blind or over a rise or something. You can only pass on the straights, you are not really racing the other guys out there, but it is a blast. Maybe sometime this summer we can organize a trip to the track.

I was in Hot Springs last March and Dominated the racing scene...or what is left of it.

Raced a supposid fast 5.0..spanked by 2 cars
Raced a 71 Chevelle SS..Spanked by 2 and a half cars
Raced a Eclipse GST...spanked by a decent amount.

then your typical ricers that flood the area..nothing to really talk about.

when I was there, i saw two mk3's and one mk2...

this was last year when i had a maroon 88T, now i have a red 89T.

hey guys sup! i used to live in fayetteville, i have an 89 red turboed. i know which maroon turboed one your talking about that runs around in springdale...i saw it on the side of the road by the rodeo grounds,lol.i think it was broke down and i have seen that crazy white turboed one with the white wheels,but it was in springdale,lol. well anyways....yeah i just thought id responded to those running in northwest arkansas! i just got me a jdm engine on order suppose to have my baby up and going by the end of this month ya! i've been with out it for about 3 months now...i miss it!

hey jdi ive currently used all txs hks and blitz on mine id have to say the blitz is the deepest the hks is the quietest and the txs is the loudest it doesnt leak for me and the the hks seems to give better response between shifts

well i'm just runnin 9psi..since i use my supra as a daily driver to school...well the my BOV isn't giving me any problems...but it does drop below idle when i rev it..it seems like the car is gonna die...then i goes back up to regular idle..it sound really nice though..i was gonna go with the HKS ssqv too but i see that a lot of supra owners have it and i just wanna try something different. i gonna get a new bov when i get some custom I/C piping done. :icon_bigg

no fees except $15/ spectator for drag...and u pay for hotel, etc...

The swap is easy though. If it comes with turbo ecu, harness, drivetrain, then your set to go.

will the 7mgte not bolt up to the N/A auto tranny? I was under the impression if i had the motor, ecu, harness, and all the other misc. stuff it would bolt right up to the tranny.

also, depending on how much pwr you want to hold, the N/a w58 tranny is weaker than the turbo trans. r154

its not hard at all bro. Go buy a new set of Valve Cover gaskets from Toyota for 20bucks. Or else you can just use some Gasket fillers for it.

Take the things that are needed to be taken off, such as 3000pipe, igntion coils, and other minor stuff. Take off the two valve covers, put in the new Gaskets, or else use the Gasket fillers. let me know if you need some help.

You took it to a shop to take out your air filter right? or what? cause for a lube, they shouldnt be any where near your turbo/accordian hose? You should be alright though...See ya around

Changing subjects, is there a good machine shop for 7m's in arkansas(preferably southwest/central arkansas)? I need a head worked/surfaced , and block bored and surfaced.( I have used the machine shops close by for my sbc race motors, they haven't impressed me with their import knowledge)
I went to high school with Keith Craft(keithcraftracing.com) and they will do the work for me, and will do a good job I am sure, BUT if there is a shop that is experienced with the 7m I will let them do it.

Thats good to know, I had forgotten about him. Tulsa is 230 miles from me, so if I can find a shop closer thats where I will go. If it comes to it, I can get to Dallas/Fort Worth as quick as Tulsa.

one of my cousin's might sell there supe to you..it a 87 NA 5spd, Grey with Greyish interior. they dont know what is exactly wrong with it but i dont think its runnin right now. the body is clean but paint is a little faded and a little damage to the passenger-side of the front bumper(at the bottom). damage is not bad though..i'll see if they want to sell it..i'll let ya know.

I need opinions on what to do homies. I think I've noticed some signs of a bhg.

That stupid bird cage of doom light keeps coming on about 2-3 weeks after I put more coolant in the overflow tank.
I hear the "waterfall" behind the passenger seat dash but only when the car is cold and on start up after sitting awhile
I check the oil often between oil changes, noticed it was a quart low. after returning back from O'riellys, opened the oil cap and noticed smoke from underneath the cap. On my last oil change I told them to check the oil for discoloration and they told me it looked fine
twice I've noticed coolant coming out of the overflow tank. I don't know if this is from overfilling it or not.


What do you guys think? have it tested? Should I take it to toyota to have it fixed or my mechanic?

The car has never overheated before so I think the head is fine, well I hope. With my tax return I going to have the hg fixed. I should have it in a few weeks

If you have a rough (cold) start, and puffing white smoke at start up and runs like shit. then those are signs of a BHG. (2) the waterfall noise it nothing, its just air bubbles caught in your coolant lines (all supras do that). And when you do pour in more coolant, dont always pour all in the over flow tank, por directly into the radiator. Hollar at me if you need help with the HG job. # is 479-430-8073 - Mong

also, i would advise you doing a MHG job for insuarance anways. DO it when your ready, not when your unexpecting it to blow and leave you stranded.

Well i had rough starts, then i re-torqued the head and re-did the timing(the timing was off by 5 degrees) and now it starts up perfect and runs even stronger. but yeah i also got the water noises too..same wat mk3_dude said, its air bubbles in the system..you gotta burb it. as for the oil...ur 7m is probably burnin oil or else its leakin from somewhere..check around the engine. againa like mk3_dude said if you aint got a mhg, put one in...better safe than sorry.

STeps to get rid of waterfall
Drain and flush coolant system. (drain as normal, keep your petcock open and just run fresh water through it, you may need to stop the flow of water to get the thermostat to open up but slowly add water as soon as it opens or it may over-heat) After that fill it up and what no. Then change out your radiator cap.

Totally normal, almost every car will do it. Hot oil tends to smoke. Fix: Don't open your oil-cap while your motor is hot, dont see it smoking, feel good about it.

On my post about the waterfall... i put the radiator cap at the end, in truth it should be at the begining, its really the thing that stops it usually, just a cheap 5 dollar one from auto-zone should do.

yep. mark is everywhere. bought a new fender to replace my old one with the nasty dent. gonna prep it and get it ready for paint. when i have enough money to get it painted, 2001 ferrari 360 modena paint is only 375 bucks for a gallon. But a hks 2.0 mm mhg and arps are first on the list. waiting on taxes to come back
