If you've got another car, put the supra away so you can tear it down for a rebuild. OR you can go for the Redneck Rodknock Fix (http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39754) and repair that way. Give the car some love and it'll give you some right back, :icon_razz

Why spend all that money on a downpayment, payments, extra insurance? Rebuild the Supra. For the money you would spend on the "stang" you could have a kick-ass Supra:naughty:

^^^^ Agreed. The supra is way more worth fixing up. ;)

stangs are slow and uncomfortable...
you'll have a huge smile when you look back and know your car is better than that POS...

Your supra is an NA, why not try to save up for a 7MGTE motor and drop it in. Assuming the condition of you car is great. That worth a supra to save.

I say sell it here in SM (take some good pics), and get yourself the mustang.

If you want a Mustang, get one...but NOT a 96. They're ugly.
Get a Fox body [like a '90 or '91]:D
4.6L garbage. Personally love Ford, they keep me very busy ;) Would I trade my 87 n/a Supra for a 96 GT? No way, no how. Yeah, they're quick in a straight line, but that's all they are. I'm amazed at how the quality of American vehicles has dropped, and Ford is a good example. That car will have vacuum problems, coil problems, window motor, switch, and regulator problems. The automatics won't take much over stock torque and hp. The seats are better than the Camaro or T.A. of the same year, but no where near as comfortable as the Supra. Oh, and can't forget the classic "white out" head light look.
There's a lot more(the term "Blue Oval Disease" comes to mind). If I had to get a Mustang, the '88 to '90 LX with a standard would be my choice. Easily upgradeable, and parts are still pretty cheap.
