Power steering problem...

i was driving my dads 2jzgte one day and then all of a sudden the steering got stiff. so i told him and he checked the power steering fluid, filled it up, and nothing. so then he got a new pump, put it in, and still nothing. the steering feels like there is no power steering at all. anyone know what it could be?

I guess the only logical thing is the rack at this point. How many miles are on it?

Top off the fluid again and check for leaks maybe?

wait when you say you filled it up was it empty?
how did you fill it up? what procedures did you take?
color of fluid you took out? err if you took any out?

definitely need more info. put it up on jackstands and drain fluid, see if theres anything chunky or ominous in there, put new fluid in and bleed it, check for leaks, check that the rack is still good.
