OMG My throttle body.

So I'm soooooo fucking mad at myself right now. Pulled the motor to attach the tranny for final assembly, and then POP.


I forgot to take off the throttle cable from the throttle body. I can't believe I did that. Noooo I couldn't forget a hose, or something cheap to pop off. So, along with needing a new throttle cable, I'm pretty sure my throttle body is fucked. The spring is super weak, the circular thing that the cable attaches to is offcenter, the butterfly doesn't return to center..... Its fucked.


What options do I have? Can I rebuild it? Will another TB work (with an adapter)? Or do I just have to find a new throttle body?

Um.. just get another. They are dirt cheap.

If only they came up for sale more often. None on ebay, none here, none on SF. It was so close to being done too :(


I've never made such a dumb mistake. G'dammit i just got going too fast and didn't take my time. Ugghhhh

I welded my oil return right under my motor mount and the line wouldnt fit! OUCH

ive got a spare trac-deleted throttle that you could probably cannibalize to fix yours

i don't know where olympia is... but if it's close to atlanta ga, then you can get another throttle body from a shop called aapmotorsports. they have tons of stock 2jz parts

the 2jz throttle body doesn't fit the 1jz intake manifold. the traction control 1jz tb will though. and its probably not worth the hassle to "un-trac" it, the only difference is it has an extra butterfly inside it. just use that
