Hey all, names Rich and I'm from Canada. I just signed up a few weeks ago to lurk. Lurking's done and I think I'm here to stay. This looks like an awesome place to get to know the Supra community.

I just boguht an 87 Supra Turbo about a month ago with a JDM 7MGTE. The engine's in there, but need to sort out some wiring problems. I know it needs an engine wiring harness, because the one in it now has a bunch of wires pulled out etc etc. but we'll see what other problems come up when that's dealt with. The body is pretty solid, just needs a fresh spray and the little skirt that goes behind the front driverside wheelwhell. Frame and underbody is in really good condition. I hope to have it running within the next few weeks, so I thought I'd say hello and hope to see you out there (doubt it, any folks from Ontario Can?) Anyways, onto the pics

Any info on common problems with the JDM 7M swap would be greatly appreciated. I got a pretty good deal on the car and bought it knowing it has some issues from the swap, just not exactly what the main issue actually is.

Also someone just gave me a TurboXS bov.. don't know if I want to sell it or put it on when she's running. Is anybody on here rockin one with a sound clip?

Thanks for all the shit I've learned so far, and the bundle of knowledge I'll gain from this place over time.

Are you sure it's JDM yo? Does it have an EGR setup?
The most common problems with the 7M are the head gasket. Toyota under torqued the head at the factory. Something like only 55ft/lbs. And supras tend to leak everything. Stay on top of your maintenance and you should be fine. Buy a TSRM if you can. If not, use the cygnusx1.net website. It's our Bible. Use the search function. Have fun here. Welcome to the site.

Mr.MacTav, I'd really love to welcome you but I hate canadians so I won't be able to at this time. I am seeking therapy and one day I hope to be able to embrace my northern brothers.................just kidding. I like most Canadians, it's Upgraded Supra that I dont' like.

Welcome to Supramania and hopefully someone on here can help you with your electrical problems. I had the TurboXS bov and it sounds pretty good. It's more of a PPSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH sound, but it is loud so everyone will know you're coming.
