an imitation do luck mid chassis bar? $325 (average) seems kind of steep for something like this. i have seen harness bar that will do what this does but even they are 300~ish

There is nothing "imitation" about BIC products.

didn't mean to offend or anything i just figured something similar to that could just be ... cheaper... even people that have bought that bar say its a steep price. i would think around 200 would make sense but... just asking a question =P :dunno:

I am interested. It will be some time before I'll end up buying the Do Luck unit, or yours, if available, but I will get one, sooner or later.

Interesting - that goes accross the rear seat footwell, and the bump in the middle is for the drivetrain hump? What's the advantage? I can't see it adding a whole lot of stiffness... can you mount aftermarket belts to this?

yes it is for the drivetrain hump, it goes right behind the arm rest, and you can't add seatbelts to the do luck bar (or it wouldn't be too smart prolly).
the advantage is basically adding stiffness without putting on a harness bar. so it would be a good product if you want to keep your stock seatbelts while still wanting access to the back seat

i say the more chassis bars the merrier!
i've had my eye on that for awhile. i also want the under car frame brace too. problem is, i don't have a mkiii to put these things on.
i'd be interested, but yeah, not untill i get another mkiii.

I'd be interested, If you could paint or powdercoat one black for me that would be great. I'd prolly buy as soon as they are released(if you make 'em).

IIRC it said on some website that it was specifically made to counter the mid chassis flex and twisting experienced on targa models... so for you hardtop guys, i don't know this would be worth it.
but BIC, make it anyway!! :)

x-brace for the targa would work better, I'd definatly buy one if you started producin those, but I doubt the floor bar would be worth it.

i thought of an x brace but they aren't too pretty with the top off

depends on how you make it, there was a group buy about two weeks ago for an x-brace, and that one looked dead sexy IMO. he had taken 1inch squaretubing and 1inch O.D. round tube, cut the round tube in half and welded the halfs onto the sides of the square, it was a great Idea, too bad I missed out...here check it out for yourself...

i saw that earlier, it looks nice. i would want something maybe a little more low profile? it looks big (too big when the top is off for my taste) and somewhat heavy
i would still buy the mid chassis bar and the x-brace (if it was pretty)

Both an X-brace and the Do Luck-style brace will help targa and hardtop chassis be more rigid. One is good, but both together, obviously, will help out more. I don't particularly care for the look of the X-brace in the link, but it could be better. I would be more into the Do Luck-style brace, personally.
If anyone wants info about the Do Luck brace from somebody who actually has one, check out Bishop's testimonial on www.ma70.com/bishop92t/.

Randy-If you did decide to make the Do Luck-style brace, do you think you could give us a neighborhood price for one of them?
