I was dropping my 1jz today and man, i was having more trouble then ever. I now have one of the 2 bolts in, but the engine is just not dropping well. Do people keep the abs lines with the 1jz install. Any advice is incredibly appreciated.
Thanks.

The rear of the turbo is hitting the abs lines.

We got the one nut on, but the other side is about 1/2 inch away.

I have connected the drive shaft already.

EDIT:
I pulled the engine out again and removed the lines to be safe. Umm, does everyone put the drive shaft in while you drop the engine, or can you do it afterwards? I have always done it while i drop the engine, but i was thinking about doing it afterwards.

Edit:
yeah, i have an engine leveler, but one side is just a tiny bit lower and so the bolt is not lining up. the tranny is just a litle angeled. I am going to try again.

Remove the bracket and move the ABS lines to give the rear turbo some room.

Otherwise you may end up busting one of those lines when the engine torques...

you really need to pick the back end of the motor up when you are dropping it in and it should slide right in (mine did when i pulled it the 2-3 times).

I had to do this when I installed my 12b's, in addition to hammering firewall in some.

I didn't have any problems either, but I didn't have the twins on. Good luck and don't give up.

I put a floor jack on the tranny and gave it a couple pumps. Then I let some of the pressure off the engine jack,a friend and I gave the engine some muscle and it fell right in. Don't need to hammer... but I found talking dirty to her helps a lot.

Engine leveler works very well in this kind of situation. If you don't have one, run to harbor Freight tools and pick one up for 20 bucks. This will allow you to tilt your engine front or back or keep it staright.
I had those lines and never ran into banging or problems.

wow, it shouldn't be that hard.. it only took me about 30 mins to drop that sucker in there w/ the twins on and didn't even need to hammer the firewall at all.. just don't give up bro, u'll find a way to make it easier for yourself..

If you're with more than one person; keep the driveshaft attached, it's easy. On your own it's quite difficult, I didn't manage it on my own so I took it off and installed it afterwards.

I've never did it with the driveshaft in because it's too easy to slide the driveshaft in afterwards, but did I mention I'm a carpenter and not a mechanic?

This is the area that it came from. It is just dangling. I see that one vacuum line, but i am not sure if that is where it connects. Thanks!

That is your MAP Sensor. It can be be mounted on the firewall area above the ridge. The vacum connects to the vacum line from the intake manifold.

IT IS IN!
I took the whole engine back out and banged the hell out of the firewall. After about another hour, it was in. GRRR!!! That took forever!
