As in the title, how does one maintain/rejuvenate machine finishes?
I have machined finished rims, that have seen better days. The finish doesn't seem shine like new. I would like to give my wheels the breath of life, but how?
Does anyone have any tips or secrets on how to treat machined finishes?

Mothers alloy polish and a lot of elbow grease. You can also uses a buffing wheel and some compounds. This link might help if you want to get serious with them.

Thank you so it's all in the "rub." I figure machine finishing is just a polish with machined grooves?

most polishes contain acids that help to eat the tarnish away, but in the process cause it later (thus meaning you have to keep buying the product)
get em polished up without acids (there are many professional polishes to choose from and have em clearcoated so they're low maintenance

Polish, followed by solvent cleaning and then clear coat.
