Starts with Ether

Car will only start using a little ether. Cranks fine. strong spark / tach reading. Checked AFM and fuel pump as per TSM all readings within specs.
Car runs great otherwise and will often start if the down time is less than approx 15min.

Any ideas or experience with similar problems?

I'd check two things first. Test the FC switch in the AFM and test the cold start injector and time switch.
