I know we're supposed to use ATF in the PS system but I figured it would complicate the title if I tried to explain it there...
Now, onto my question, how much ATF do I need for the 1JZ's PS system?

Dude.. isn't there a bottle with a level indicator integrated in the cap?

Yeah but I didn't want to start the car with no fluid at all in the system which is how it sits now since the car hasn't ran in 3 months.
If I fill the bottle to the fill line now, with everything cold and dry, it's going to need more once the car is running, also I'd like to have an idea how many quarts of ATF I need to buy.

just start it w/ no fluid... cripes.
all you do is just fill the bottle, starte the car and itll suck the fluid in. youre not going to starve the bearings, just keep topping it off as the air is purged and it sucks in fluid
yeah, you'll be ok. Fill it up, start the car. Turn the wheel all the way left and hold it. Then turn it all the way right and hold it, this bleeds the air out of the system. Do this several times, check the fluid level and bring it up to the required level. Then drive it. Check it again and your all set.
Took less than 1/2 a litre to refill mine from bone dry (rebuilt rack and pump)
Being RHD I think our lines are shorter so LHD cars may need a little more.
