What Oil???

I just got my 87 Supra and no idea what oil is in it or what was in it.

It was well maintained by the PO with all records except the oil.
I will be driving it 140 mi/day. If it sits several days, there is a little blue smoke on startup.

What brand and type of oil should I go with?
I run RotellaT syn 5w40 in the Land Cruiser. Its a diesel oil but it works great in many Land Cruisers.

Rotella T syn oil is an excellent oil...if you read the API ratings, you'll see it's rated for gasoline engines as well. Sounds like you have leaky valve seals...bet you have quite a few miles on the bottom end (bearing wear) as well ;)
In this case an 40W is appropriate IMO.
