View Full Version : 6 Piston Wilwood 13" Front kit
Just like the 4 piston kit THIS IS A BOLT ON KIT!!!
All you need to complete the install is brake fluid and tools.
Our kit consists of:
2, Wilwood 6 piston Billet Superlite Calipers (Billet SL6 full Machined caliper body)
2, 13 inch diameter x 1.38 inch thick directional curved vane Wilwood rotors
2, Rotor hats, specifically made to fit the MKIII hub (These will include all the grade 8 fasteners)
2, Caliper brackets and "press fit" threaded inserts installed
2, Brake lines "braided stainless steel" with all the required fasteners to install in the factory brake line retainers.
4, Brake pads, Wilwood Street Compound = low dust = excellent cold performance
And all the EXACT fasteners required to make this a bolt on kit.
The Major difference between this kit and the 4 piston kit is the caliper. This kit includes the Billet SL6 Calipers, they feature a full width reinforced rib outboard body for maximum strength. A unique six-piston differential bore configuration provides balanced pad loading for even pad wear in sustained high heat environments. Also the same 20mm thick pads as the Forged Superlight calipers.
If you want a sample of how fast these brakes can stop your vehicle, please contact me for a test ride, and I will promptly HANG YOU ON THE BELTS. I do not recommend doing repeated brake demos if you dont have new motor mounts...IM 100% SERIOUS!!!! These are racing Brakes you will be shocked at the improvment over stock brakes.
You have never felt a Supra stop like this. You wont be dissapointed in these brakes.
Heres the install thread Wilwood front brake install thread
The price for the 6 Piston 13" MKIII Front Brakes is:
$1545!!! plus shipping and handling.

FWIW, is the stoping power much better or do you just have more control?

that's what I'm saying too BorHor. I got lots of stuff I have to take care of first.
sorry for cluttering up the thread ARZ. I'm sure you get enough people saying I wish I could afford your brakes bla bla bla. I'm one of them.
anyhow the kit looks great! I can't wait to see what else you'll come up with for our cars! thank you for the support.

Hello ARZ are there any thoughts or considerations on running a 'special' on the 4pots? :icon_razz
FWIW, is the stoping power much better or do you just have more control?
They feel a bit more solid all the way around, the caliper body is designed to be a little stiffer than the 4 piston and the differential bores get the pad to lead in a little better than the 4 piston caliper.
Overall feel is very similar but with a firmer pedal when your hard into them.
Also the 80mph + range seems to be a bit more responsive too. It seems Im able to decelerate a little faster from the 120+ down to the 80 mph range better on all out (STAB THE HELL OUT OF THE) brake fest.
Hello ARZ are there any thoughts or considerations on running a 'special' on the 4pots? :icon_razzSorry, but nope, I dont make a killing on these as it is. If you check around, I have the very best quality at the very best price range, and it takes quite a bit of time to get these developed and tested. I spend a ton of my own money and have over ten thousands of dollars in product in stock, I need to pay for it somehow.
The only place I might consider any kind of discount is in Vegas and even then you will need to make arrangements to have me bring them and there will be other conditions, PM me if your going to Vegas and want to pick up a set then.

andy is it just the calipers that are different in this kit or the brackets as well as the dics look the same as the 4 pot's
Yes its just the calipers that are different, the rest of the kit is identical.
Yes the 6 piston calipers are that much more expensive!!! They are a completely machined body.

so the rest of the kit is the same then andy and i could just put 6 pot's on the brackets to replace the 4 pot's

Holy poop on a stick...that is all.
so the rest of the kit is the same then andy and i could just put 6 pot's on the brackets to replace the 4 pot'sYes but then I wouldnt sell a partial kit to anyone. People have a way of screwing up buying bits and pieces and then in the end when they have problems, they blame me for their mistakes in ordering and installing incorrect parts. I have seen this time and time again. That is the whole reason I didnt go that route. I sell complete kits and replacement parts only.
If you have already purchased my kit and want to upgrade, I would recommend you selling the calipers on Ebay and not mentioning them being part of my kit at all. I will not sell the new owner the rest of the parts to complete the kit. You could order the complete 6 piston kit and just put your 4 piston calipers back in the box and sell it to a local guy.
Try to see it from my side, I answer tons of (MY CUSTOMERS) questions about MY kit. If someone else mixes and matches I cant be 100% sure they have everything they need to complete the install.
hey andy, will these fit under mkiv TT rims?
-shaeffIm still trying to find a local guy willing to let me borrow their TT rims. I cant see why not. The 16 in Sawblades allllllllmost fit. If that is the only thing keeping you from buying, let me know and I will find out ASAP.

andy i fully understand that my friend i thought the 6 pot was going to be a 14" disc though or did i misread that one <scratches head > from some earlier threads in the 4 pot one

I cant completely understand exactly what you were trying to say. My brain can put the commas in several places and your reply comes out sounding different (to me) every time. Sorry, heres the story below.
I have two front 13 inch kits for the MKIII one 4 piston ($1195.00) and 6 piston (1545.00)
ON TOP OF THAT, I have a 14" 6 piston kit that I will release within 6 weeks, that shares absolutely NO parts with the 13" inch kits (except maybe the brake lines, and thats not even confirmed). The major problem with the 14" kit is that its way more expensive than the 13 inch kits. Like $2200.00 or so the Rotors are about 600 for the pair, the calipers are about 550 each, you can see how this adds up fast, the kit looks amazing, im still trying to see if it will fit under 18 inch wheels, "it does look favorable".

I have the same calipers and same sized rotors on an old Jim King bbk and it fits within the mk4 TT wheels. There isn't much room between the face of the caliper and the rear of the spokes. That's w/out a wheel spacer. You may need one - can't tell from the pics. It looks like my caliper fits a little tighter on the rotor, so the OD on my kit would be slightly smaller, but IIRC there's plenty of room.
T72PWD lives near me and apparently just bought a set - maybe I can test fit a wheel once he gets them installed.

I am suprised no one has replied to this as of yet
Im so sorry I didnt notice a post in this tread. I have had a few changes to my parts that I havent been able to get to the website yet or to SM.
The new standard rotor is e-coated and the same price as a standard rotor. If you want cad plated drilled and slotted the price went WAY up.
Here are some photos of the new standard rotor in black, the rotor hat is an additional $40 per kit in black anodized.
