If you'd buy it as is [wrecked], what would be the max you'd pay?

Note: It has a SALVAGE TITLE.

I'd pay $1500, because it looks near mint, except for the rear. I'd maybe even pay $2000 considering if it was turbo or N/A.

it runs good and everything else?
Known issues:
* The accident damage
* Passenger side is buckled
* Will have a salvage title
* Broken cam gears [cracked bad, but work]
* Needs an alignment
* Pass-side wheels are broken/bent [need 2 new wheels]
* Rear antenna broken
* Rear main seal leaking
* Cam seals have irreparable leak [cam covers or cyl head are AFU]
* Front speakers need replacing
* Needs horns

The rear main seal is shot & needs to be done soon & the cam leaks are a lost cause. Other than that, it runs fairly well.

No shit? That sucks. It's fine in Colorado, just has to be disclosed.

With all that's wrong with it (especially the cracked cam gears and irreparably leaking cam seals.... those are rather worrisome) I wouldn't pay more then $750... maybe $1000.

EDIT: Just looked it up, in Nevada you can't sell a vehicle with a salvage title, but once you repair it and get a rebuilt title it's all good. I don't think that's unreasonable really.

No one asked if it's legal to sell a salvaged title vehicle in Nevada and no one cares.
edit: Except Nevadans.

In all honesty, it looks like in the second pic that it was hit hard enough to buckle the whole passenger side. Looking at the trim and near the gas tank in pic #2 its either the picture or its got some dmg. I would give him 1000 max for it, if the engine needs all that work, and you do have to repair the rear I wouldn't go over a grand.

GL in your decision.

I think you should donate it to DaSoup so he can get rid of his NA motor and join the wonderful world of boosting.

Yes, the body is buckled on the pass side.

Everyone is fixated on the rear, yet damage extends beyond. After inspecting it myself, the body needs a lot of repair to make it line up again with the tail lights, spoiler, hatch, bumper, & door, not to mention damage to the gas tank's mounting & possible damage to the gas tank.

Superficially via pics the car appears easily fixable, but dig a little & it gets clearer why the insurance company totaled the car. They pegged repairs at ~$4900.

Thats what I figured, a hit like that can do mad damage to a car. My bros maxima was hit and the guy was only going like 30 mph and it ruined the frame. When whole panels start buckling up like that, something is out of wack.

I'd pay a lot more, most of the damage is cosmetic, not to mention the interior is near mint (interiors parts aren't cheap)

underhood pics are necessary for me to really judge, but it would make a great parts car...

Looking at what you just said about the damage, I'd now say < $1000.

I'd pay $750 - $1000. You're looking at it for parts, and that's about it.

still, lots of high quality parts on there, a part out can get far more than that...

I know this Supra. :( It belonged to the owner of http://cygnusx1.net/ and the wonderful dude who has made the online TSRM available to us.

I say 1000-1500 because even with the damage, it's a beautiful car that, if not repairable, is worth a lot in parts. Good luck!

Yeah, but itīs an MK4 - unfortunately itīs worth fixing the MK4 since the price is still high or overrated...

Back to topic: Iīd pay $750-1000 bucks if you want to part it out. Fixing the whole would be too pricey IMHO.

I wouldn't sell it...definitely part it out.

If it were for sale, I would consider 2k, only because the rest of the car is in such good shape. Would the wheels be included as well?

it looks like it has the same damage as mine does (did) and it's about 1500-2000 to get the back pulled and lined up again. dont think there is any frame damage, prob give him 1000-1500

750 being that is a salvage title and it needs work

HIDPLANET

Yeah youre not gonna get much because of the title and selling the car will be faster, but you could milk a lot more money out of the car by parting it out.

get a rolling chassi... swap the parts you want and you will have your car back.

Attention: THE CAR HAS BEEN SLATED FOR REPAIR.

Alas, another journey down a well-trodden path begins. Only time will tell whether it was the best decision, but the decision has been made.

Dude, you crack me up.

Besides, if I had decided not to fix it, I figured you'd stalk me 'til the end of time, like the guy in Scream who always keeps coming back to remind them what they did last Summer! "I know what you did!"

Late.

If your willing to chance it you could take it to a college autobody shop or a trade school like Wyotech or UTI and see if any students are looking for a project and give them a few $$$'s for the work.

Im getting my whole car straightened, sanded, primed and painted for a $1K+the cost of paint.

did you load the pictures? It was hit in the ass hard enough to buckle the rear passenger panels near the gas tank. how is that a solid body?

That my friend is a parts car...period. More trouble than it would ever be worth to fix it, and guess what?...it'll never drive right.

But, it looks like it has some pretty cherry parts on it, and that alone makes it worth having!

So I'd say to beat the shit out of the owner for price, (he wants to get rid of it like the plague I'll bet) start at $500 and hang tough on your price untill he's ready to throw you off his property, and I bet you can pick it up for $750 or less.

Now find a straight body with a blown motor, put em togther and you got a ride...cheap!

Be cruel my Supra brother.:icon_mad:

when i said solid body i meant the car has no rust when people say straight body means theres not many dents
