Full length clutch hose, for 5 speed swaps or replacement of old stock hose.
It goes directly from the clutch master cyl right to the slave cyl. Eliminates the need for the factory hardlines at the top and bottom. This hose is stainless braided with a clear outer jacket to prevent scratching on the paint and brake hardlines. It will be $45, and include clips and zip ties to mount it.

hahaha aaron great minds think alike i guess.

ive had this on my things to make list for awhile now... looks awesome and GREAT extra idea to put the clear plastic on it so it doesnt scratch the paint...

:bigthumb: to the DM masterminds again and nice price too.

Yes, it will include zip ties.

You can use clamps from Pico. They are a stainless clamp (inner) with a rubber housing and are also flexible. Maybe I will post a picture when I get more time. Going to watch a movie now.

I have those clamps available, but it would be a few dollars more, those damn things are expensive. :biglaugh:

The hose in the pic was the first one to make sure the length is ok, I can have more made up by Mon or Tue.

Dammit. If only you had offered this when I was doing my engine swap. I needed the shorter line that screwed into to the slave cylinder. Do you think it would reach on a RHD car?

bigaaron
06-30-2007, 04:11 AM
I can make it any length you want, but the fittings are crimped so I need to know how you are going to run the hose in order to get the ends clocked at the right angle. I think rhd would need about an extra foot at least.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think the clutch line on 91+ are different. The have banjo bolt.

I might need a custom length made in the near futrure:)

The master is a little different, but i'm pretty sure it uses the same fitting.

Keep in mind that if you already have the factory hardlines, there is no real advantage to swapping all that out for this hose. The reason I wanted to have it available was for people doing 5 speed swaps so they didn't have to order the expensive factory hardlines.

im slowly losing clutch fluid..i know its not my slave cylinder because its pretty new and i checked it and it wasnt leaking. so im guessing its either my clutch hose or my clutch master cylinder. i was wondering how hard would it be to install this full length stainless steel clutch line? do you think i should replace my clutch master cylinder as well?

bigaaron
07-14-2007, 01:34 AM
Look under your carpet behind the clutch pedal, I bet that's where the fluid is going, out the back of the master cylinder. It isn't a bad idea to just change out the master, slave, and hose all at the same time. I don't know the scientific reasoning, but it seems that when you only change out one or the other, the one you didn't change fails soon after. It's $145 for all three pieces.

I have 10 of these hoses in stock and ready to ship! I've been increasing my stock levels on all the popular items, to make sure I can ship as fast as possible.

pressure will find the path of least resistance, so if the seal is old and weak...

never replace a main seal on an engine without replacing the other as well for this reason...

not to mention you have it all apart anyway

bigaaron

That makes good sense. Also, it's nice to only have to bleed it once and also to get all the old fluid and any contaminants out of the system.

check out DM new master/slave cyl and no more hard lines instead full length SS clutch hose. Thanks to Jason (Idealsupra) for helping me out install it. We installed under brake booster. You can run the same way where the factory hard line was but I think it will need to be extended probably 3-4" more. You can make it fit but it's pretty close. The clutch feels great with good modulation and low engagement instead of high. It helps a lot if you really want to shift pretty quick to accelerate.

bigaaron - thanks for hooking me up with my new bling. :icon_bigg

Cool! Thanks for posting pics! I was origionally going to make it go over the brake booster, but to me it seemed to be better to make the hose a little shorter and more direct.
