hey guys, just wondering if anyone has come across a non-hks genuine temp sensor that will work with a VPC? Im buying a vpc that doesnt have a temp sensor and dont really feel like spending another 100 bucks on a hks genuine one when a generic one could do the same job..

i'm 99% sure that the HK$ temp sensor is just a std. GM IAT....perhaps someone that has one can post a pic. FWIW i sell them for $15....

The sensor is in the middle, long skinny to reach into the air stream. We have them for about $50.

Usually you will need one of the adapters to the left to bolt on, about $8.

hmm thats interesting i might just go down to the local auto shop and quote them that denso part number, might get lucky, and thats the actual sensor HKS uses so it would have the same outputs id say. Cheers guys :icon_bigg

I would bet the outputs are close enough to GM to get away with it.

I have just ordered one myself from HKS, its the same sensor thats used by the
HKS F-CON V-Pro & D-Jetro.

I'l take a few resisance values at different temps If someone could do the same for the GM sesnor? as the VPC one cost me $110 at Dealer pricing. Would be nice to know if the GM was similar.

FWIW I know for a fact a gm 3 bar map will work in place of the hks unit. Mine ran great.
