I was just wondering if a regular autometer a/f gauge would be worth it?
I really want a wideband o2, in fact i'm going to go with the L1 kit when i get the money.. But for now theres more important stuff to be upgraded (brakes.. mainly) an i just wanna see where its at (or close to it).
My friend has one on his honda, and it reads good when hes at WOT, otherwise it sits there an puts on a light show back an forth..
Would it do the same on the supra? or is it worthless.
Let me know your thoughts/opinions before i make a mistake.. lol

I'm going to say no, the stock wideband won't give you any good readings to go on.

Don't bother, it's not accurate enough to do any tuning. If you want a wideband with a nice display check out the new AEM: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/Images/Products/AEM/Wideband_Kits_Six_In_One_UEGO.jpg
It lets you change the face and bezel color, taking the place of 6 different previous gauges...

stock is not wideband. Stock is narrowband. ;)

it'll just tell you lean at idle (mines usually off the map lean) and mad rich at WOT. it's a cool light show and kinda like nana I've got a turbo and your gay. but other than that it's not really really nesseccary.

im gonna go against the grain here...BUT with conditions...
an AF gauge by itself for the sole purpose of "tuning" IS useless....HOWEVER... an AF gauge PLUS an EGT gauge is VERY useful in my opinion.... with those two gauges an experienced tuner can make subtle adjusments with fuel...as well as both of them together give you a good idea of whats going on in the engine....
yes it is a light show....so another good use for it is as a filler gauge...meaning if you have an empty gauge pod to fill in it wouldnt be a bad gauge to put there....
that is all... ;)

yes I will agree with Idealsupra an AF (A GOOD) AF and EGT gauge will make a good tuning tool but not that crap that autometer sells.

Would a regular A/F gauge work with a wideband o2 sensor?
I have two pods to fill, one will be EGT.. the other will probly be A/F.
