I ordered the Spearco Style FMIC from aaron at driftmotion last thursday and I received it this friday, aaron was very helpful and actually responded with information unlike many vendors. When I first thought of ordering I called aaron and he talked to me in detail on what I was looking for on my install, he reccommended 2 90 degree silicone bends, as well as 2 2.5 to 2.25 inch reducers since I had explained that I was using this to replace my stock intercooler on my 90 7MGTE Supra, I also explained I had custome done a hardpipe kit that was 2.25 inches in size and bent exactly like the stock piping.
I received the products all in one box in great shape today and hope to install it soon, I was frustarted at UPS but aaron althought it was not his fault offered me a discount on a future purchase, I think this speaks highly for his service skills and care for his customers, I will not hit him up for it because it wasn't his fault, UPS was a day late through thier own processes and its totally out of his control.
Thanks a lot aaron, and driftmotion for your excellent service, and excellent products. I am adding some pics I took and also I will add more info and pics once my install is complete. I got everything I need 4 couplers, 2 reducers, 2 90 degree bends, 6 brackets, nuts, bolts, and one honking nice FMIC Thanks again guys, I highly reccommend ordering from driftmotion anytime.

Got it installed and also posted a product review on the forum here so check it out for additional info, heres the new pics. Again aaron feel free to use any of these if you like. Increased boost pressure, throttle response and made the turbo and BOV much more audible. The engine pulled stronger especially when the turbo spooled you cna literally feel this thing go to work

How much modification is required to install this thing?

Hey thanks Wills!!!

How much modification is required to install this thing?

None! You don't have to do anything to the car itself. You just have to bend and drill the brackets to mount it.
The piping and fittings depends on what you have now. This IC can be fitted to stock piping, cooleze piping, or my universal piping kits.

I"ve got the same kit on Vixens car and I've got another Driftmotion intercooler on my 1jz swap. Actually I've got lots and lots of www.driftmotion.com parts on both of our cars. You can't beat their customer service and know how, plus it's fun to talk to someone on the phone without a southern accent every now and again................:biglaugh:

I'm assuming that's a reflection from the beautiful carpet below on the lower tank...............not rust.

I hope to soon be purchasing this same intercooler from Aaron, along with a 2.5" piping kit.

Yea thats a reflection from that play carpet my lil brother outgrew, good for picking up oil puddles etc hahaha. Yeah I needed 2 90 degree silicone elbows and 2 2.5 to 2.25 inch reducers since my IC piping was based on all the stock bends and sizes. We made the brackets the day before using my buddy jesses car to fab them up so that the pipes would fit and the IC would fit under the bumper, then a couple days later we slapped her on. It wasn't too bad, we mounted the top to the support structure the hood latch is on and then the bottom we made 2 brackets to mount it on the fram itself or lower support thing whatever it is. Its on nice and snug now and it really did help the car use its boost, I wish I had a dyno of before and after because you can feel a lot more out of the engine especially at WOT but its just amazing how much quicker the RPM's and boost gauge rise and how much more kick it has, I love it and again dealing with aaron was easy and very very helpful.

I'm very glad I made the move and did it, with as lil in modifications as I have done the car has really come alive over the days of the 5.5 psi wastegate setting and stock IC, exhaust and airbox ughhhhh those were slow times hahaha.

Thanks again and hopefully I'll have money and time to buy more parts soon.

cuz I'm hella broke since I'm prolly getting fired today plus I bought a new bed since my old one took a dump and broke so now I have a 700 dollar queen size fram headboard and mattress and box spring, if I end up living on the streets at least I'll sleep well.

***UPDATE*** Played with an NA SC300 on the interstate on my way home from St. Louis, before this point I had not driven on the interstate with the new FMIC on. The car had much better pull and it just ran smoother and sounded a lil deeper too, I'm assuming from the decreased pressure drop and higher flow rate. Good times, Good times..........

I have my kit now. Looks great, and I will be looking at these pictures for my install once I have my motor mounts to get the motor install finished. I'm just waiting on my elbows he had dropped shipped, cause I wanted Red.

I've been working on getting my IC and 2.5" IC pipe kit installed... took her for a spin last night and it felt great. Mounting took a bit of creativity (my IC required relocating the oilcooler), but a great product nonetheless. And I totally forgot about the reducers to go to 2.25" at the intake and turbo when I ordered the kit, so we had to scramble to get some at the last minute, but all in all no big deal.

Haha, and nubcake moment when I didn't tighten down the clamp on the 3000 pipe and blew the pipe clear off the intake during the first trial run :biglaugh:

Two thumbs up Aaron, thanks for the great products. Back to boosting, finally:evil2:

Heh, I actually broke one of the t-bolt clamps that came with my kit. I use an 11mm deepwell socket to tighten them down until the nut just starts to come out of the socket because the stud's too long, then stop, but one t-bolt stud sheared in half, way before that point... I guess it was a dud, oh, well, I have plenty of t-bolts and couplers left over as I only used the TB reducer, one coupler going under the headlight, the two 90's on the IC, one coupler on the hot pipe, and the reducer on the turbo. The rest are being ground down smooth and being sent off to the tig welded together ;).

How much modification is required to install this thing?

for me it was a drop in practically for stock hoses... i needed IC,2 45 deg pipes and a couple extra couplers and of course, clamps. the IC is noticably heavier than the stocker... i'd say it weighs 4-5 times as much but the performance gain is pretty sweet... i naturally gained 2~3 Psi and faster spooling.... doesnt show off that well with a license plate + a/t cooler mounted in front of it lol... my stock oil cooler still bolted in etc... realy easy install

and you dont need to take off the bumper like pictured unless you have other things to do with it....

It makes getting everything just right that much easier by taking off the front bumper, plus, might as well do a little triming of the front crash support too. ;).
