[Slow66]

Here it is folks, a list of 1/4 mile times that will actually be updated.

There will be 4 sections. MKIII bodied (7m powered), MKIII bodied (1j powered), MKIII bodied (2j powered), and Other (ie. 7m dragster, 1uz mkiii, 7m/1j/2j mkii, etc)

Its kinda hard to make a list for every combo, so i think this will do for now.

All submissions must be accompanied by a timeslip or video. I will work on the honor system that the timeslip is actually yours. I will do top 30 for 7m powered mkiii's (since that is the majority), and top 15 for everything else.

Please include and a *basic* mod list with your submission!

I have Gary's times in my e-mail and some video of his passes. He is doing amazing things with that dragster. I just e-mailed him about it. His times are down into the middle 7's. I have his mod list too, but I won't post that to protect his set up.

Hi guys,

We have a few fast mk3's here. I own a 1986 with an internally stock 1jz with twin k26's and have done 9.48@146 on slick and open exhaust. 9.81@144 with d.o.t. tires and mufflers. Also own a 1985 Corolla with the same set up as the Supra but using less boost and is doing high 8 seconds @ over 150mph. Both have manual transmissions and are street cars. The other project of mine is a gutted 87 with a build 7mgt. My brother has an 89 with 7mgt has done low 11's thru the mufflers on pump gas @ 17psi. Engine has only hks gasket and arp bolts. My brother in law has an 87 with a twin 16g 1jz doing low 10's. And there are half a dozen more around. Here are videos of the Corolla. Tried to download some Supra videos but couldn't. Got a 14.05 at 101 on thurs in my 89 turbo on a 57 trim, shimmed wastegate, spearco replica, 2.5 harpipes, 3 in exhaust dp back with stock elbow. I could not hook up 1st gear. So close to high 13's!

mods are, stock jdm 2jz, GT76, Haltech e-11, 1000cc in, custom intake mani, 4 in exhaust,exedy twin disc. Best MPH so far is was a 12.9 @ 128 bogging and missing second gear. Also I was on 17 in BFG drag radials

That was on junk 205/55r16 Dunlops & a semi fried tranny.
Since then I've put the MT ET Street radials on, replaced the NA trans with a Turbo A34o, shimmed the accumulators, uped the stall speed, added an MBC + boost, tuned from low 11 to low 12 AFR's.

Not to mention, lighter wheels, uber light exhaust, no spare tire/jack, and some hefty reenforcement in the rear hatch floor. :icon_razz

-water to air cooler
-MT ET Street 28x13,5-15

My target to reach the magic 10 sec in this year. I will change the differential from 3.7 to 4.1 ratio, try to shift with full throttle (power shift), reducung the weight and maybe nitrous shot 100HP.

Well, Not Exactly a good one. But be gentle, its my first time at the drag strip. ever. I ran a 14.903@100.75mph with a .883 reaction time and a 2.781 60'. I want to get there more often. If i can get the reaction time down to like .5 and take a half a second off my 60' i can be around 13.8 or so @ more like 105. This was also a go off a wave. Tree wasn't on.

yeah. the good ol pinks start. My first run i dropped at 4krpm, wheels hopped and it popped outta 1st gear. 2nd run i dropped at 2krpm and it bogged :cry:. There was no time for a third run, track was closing. Im gonna work on launching at 3000rpm and bringing that 60' to where it should be. even if i get it to like 2.2 or so that should help alot.

.400 used to be perfect on a pro-tree. Now (at least at all NHRA tracks) .000 is perfect whether on a sportsman tree or a pro tree. The delay is still the same from amber to green, .400 on the pro, and .500 on the sportsman.

So let me get this straight.
You want to make the Supra something it was never meant to be?

A Supra is a big car. Deal with it.

It's all about the power to weight ratio, my friend.
If you're fascinated by going fast with NOT making much power, but just being in a big go-cart...Have at it. Everyone has their own cup of tea.

I, on the other end, enjoy making BIG power, FEELING that big power,
and knowing that with a big car, I can still stomp on 95% of the cars sitting next to me.

And since you absolutely have to throw that sweet Honda running a 13.9 in there.....

I ran a 13.76 with the simplest of bolt-ons (exhaust, intake, etc) with my big heavy, stock Supra. Pretty slow for an 80's car.

Bogging, The first run i ever did, i launched at 4000rpm and it hopped really bad.. I'm under the impression that i need the traction bars that a1 racing offers.. i just need to get a paycheck that doesn't go down the drain for bills so i can get my hands on them.

by the time i get to the track ( i head up after work ) i only have time for 1-2 runs, so tuning my launch hasn't been easy. I'm working on it, and Ive made 3 runs so far. a 16.xxx (wheel hop launch, popped outta 1st gear) 2nd run was a 14.9 (2.9 60'.. major bog launch) and the most recent 14.3 with 2.4 60" with a 3000rpm launch with a tiny chirp and medium bog. I keep improving, just gotta keep up the trend. My tires are also at 90% tread depth, if i keep toasting them up ill get better traction as i go.

I got the LIPP Supra Sport traction bars. They helped a lot with the hop, but I still get it sometimes. My best 60' is still only a 1.89 but getting the 60' down has got to be the cheapest/quickest/easiest way to knock down your ET.

You dumped a good amout of weight. Stock 5 speed hard top turbo is about 3550, without a driver.

That is about 403 flywheel horsepower at 3600 lbs.

To be completely honest here...I think that a BPU MA70 (Still with stock turbo),
Should ideally be in the 13's as they are.

I think we're all so used to seeing 14 and in some cases, 15 second time slips from cars that SHOULD ideally be running in the 12's and 13's.

And on Nick's note.......I'd like to see a picture of your compressor wheel!

a 30-35 mph head wind is what killed it I think. It was howling hard.
My gearing is also a little messed up. I have to shift into fourth about thirty yards from the finish line. I can probably make it without shifting if I turned about eight grand, but I'm too scared to do it. My car is built for it, but I'm not.

my 1st and only pass ever in a RWD car.

the cars deff good for high 13's as is.

only mods are kyg GR2 w/ eibach pro-kit, and open DDP w/ test pipe, to Tanabe Hyper racing medallion.

This was on 22 lbs of boost, street tires, 3/4 tank of gas. Now that I have a bit of retrospect, I could have made 11's easy enough, but I didn't want to push her too hard. Next time more boost & faster 60 ft. I am going to practice my launching. We may try decreasing rear air pressure as recommended. This winter funky_monkey58 and I will be picking up some Mickey Thompson drag radials. My prediction is I will be #3 on the 2JZ list by June of next year, perhaps #2 if I get billet 67.
