what will be needed for the swap? i have a 90 n/a auto (good running shape, just cant get legal)and have heard the motor will bolt up to the 4 speed in the truck.any good links or tips?

not sure about the pre '89 pickups. for my '94, all i need is a motor, a w58 bellhousing, ecu, 5M motor mounts and wiring harness. it's my summer project.

is your 87 truck not a 5 speed manual ? not 4 speed ? two wheel drive
The 5 speed tranny is a w 56 takes the bellhousing off the w58 (car tanny ) and all is good. IT is a good swap not too diff to do . -skinner
