Now I need a real clutch. Since the clutched slipped at this hp level, I now need a new and better one. This was a boost only run. This would have been much more if it held np! Nitrous was next on tap but since the clutch didn't hold on just boost, I see no point in doing this on nitrous (yet) :( Maybe in a few weeks...

Duane: What clutch is in it?

6 puck single disk ( it hell last year with 651 TQ with my old turbo combo) so I figured this would hold the new set-up. The TQ we figure would be in the high 6's if he held for us and over 800:naughty:

I spoke with RPS and they told me that they might make a clutch (tester) and I am waiting a reply back still.

holy christ that is insane. congratulations.

breaking barriers is what you're doing. You should be very proud.

the block design is quite old. This is amazing proof of toyota's engineering to achieve such incredible results with an "old" 3 litre motor. Shows what you can do with some knowledge, skill, patience and a bit of money.

It's truely amazing you can make a graph like that and the car still looks good!

again, congrats!

Being the only one here that was present for the dyno pulls today, all I can say is..

HOLY CRAP THIS CAR SOUNDS AWESOME! And makes some HUGE HP's!

I will post video tomorrow so everyone can see.

Huge congrats to Duane and Ron for putting together such a great engine. As you may know we (RRev Motorsports) are the ones who did the MoTeC install/wiring and John Reed (our tuner) was behind all the wiring and the keys of the Motec software. Everyone here at the shop is just plain impressed with the performance the car put down on the dyno today, and we give Duane a very hard time about 7M's!! hahaha..

You may not know me, but for those who do.. I am officially giving Duanes car the following status:

When you dyno cars like Duanes, and like this.. http://www.rrevstore.com/onedime/duck.wmv the neighbors tend to get a little upset over the noise. Plus our building is equipped with a HVAC system that can handle it. :icon_bigg

i was waiting for this. i love your car and this only makes me more amazed. what were your previous numbers? i have a strong feeling this warrants another go in SCC or similar tuner mag...

hear from any yet? or do you have to contact them...

i vaguely remember reading in your article you wanted to go for 1000 i think... i have the mag in a box somewhere...i'll have to check it out now. lol!

i'm waiting for the video to download, and it sucks.

so how do you know the clutch is slipping? dissproportionate RPM curves at the wheels as compared to the engine? or do you hear it...

GrimJack

Nice job again.. If its not to much trouble, could you post your mod list? That's pretty easy.... start with an '89 Supra Hardtop.

Pull everything out / off of it.

Throw most of that out.

Upgrade everything that's left.

Buy new / improved versions of everything you threw out. (Anyone feel like explaining the difference between a CT-26 and a T-88?)

Put it all back together.

Add a rollcage and turn up the boost.

Honest - I'm not kidding, the number of parts that he has on there from the original car isn't large, and virtually everything has been upgraded, at least once, in some way.

A T88 devours children, cars, fuel, and money when it spools. A CT26 just manages to pull in some air. :D

I need to get a business card from these RREV people, I will definately be looking into their services in the future.

I don't think I'll ever be able to spend as much time on my car and have as perfect a 7M as Duane, but his work is definately an inspiration. I bought the last magazine he was in, looking forward to getting the next one :)

BTW: So when are you going with an auto tranny? :) Since you had an auto and did the 5spd swap, I'm sure you'll eventually reach some HP limit and will only get quicker by switching back to an auto tranny?

Hah! don't count on Duane giving up on the venerable R154 anytime soon! He will probably figure out another way to make it hold over 1000rwhp,:aigo: if necessary!:biglaugh: Alot of people throughout the community, although respecting his attention to detail, and admiring his already lofty numbers...have doubted the capability, and reliabilty of the 7M, when being pushed this hard! Not Duane, Ron R., Nate, or Don! Duane has shut the mouths, of many a hater, and backs up every claim he makes!!!::salute:: :boink: If I lived on the other side of the world, and didn't know him from adam, that on trait alone,^ would make me love him!:icon_razz Good work bro! Can't wait to see 900+, and the sub-10 second passes, that we all know are coming soon!
The bar is way up there now! Next up to bat...KWNate! Look for some more big, big numbers, coming from yet, another superbly prepared motor,(by the FAB 3!) led by the incomperable Ron R.!

Duane, did you make EIGHT HUNDRED THREE horse power on the stock fuel rail? Did you modify the fuel rail for a larger feed or return or anything?

It is a single feed from the back -8 and the front is a -6 bango (see next pic)

Best I can come up with as far as the front is concerned. Sorry. You can sort of see the bango there.

I was just curious what that monster turbo he has is putting down. It's been two years and no dyno numbers.

Why the hell was this dead thread resurected.

Everyone knows Duane retired and parted out his car to buy a Cadillac DeVille that he can drive 10 mph under the limit with his blinker on.

Nah, I'll leave it closed. I will update my new numbers when I'm ready. I have dynoed the car and it wasn't on kill so I didn't post a number. :biglaugh: I have a different turbo now anyway. Haven't you learned anything yet?! I like changing things. :D

I now have a 1JZ with a big single. It has cams and a few other things too.

Later!
