Gains were good, I didn't dyno before/after but there was a very noticeable difference. Car runs good @20psi with 57 trim CT-26.

How much larger is that core than stock?

Wow I can safely say I've never seen the full HKS kit for a 7m pretty sweet, core looks meaty but not too long.

larger then stock, but not by much. The power gains come from a better design, not from size. The HKS 3000 pipe came with it. The only thing that really dissapointed me about the kit was the fact that it's flanged for the stock BOV. As if someone will drop almost 2g retail on an IC kit and not spend $200ish for the HKS SSQV, ridiculous.

Wow, the perception of size between the 1st and 2nd picture is HUGELY different, lol.

Looks like a pretty high quality piece of kit, my only question is, are the pipes steel or aluminum?

That's beautiful.
I almost bought one on eBay about 4mo ago from HKSOutlet. regrettably, I didn't check on it and it ended at like $700 :(

Steel.

I'd prefer to have steel as it insulates better on the cold side than AL will, but it really doesn't make that big of a difference, just easier to weld ;).

Did you buy the HKS SSQ BOV kit and use the kit with the Intercooler or did you have to do a custom job in order to make it fit?

how will the hks intercooler compare to say, an ebay intercooler?

ViR2

there are meny different types of ebay intercoolers.
HKS kit looks awsome! But price for it is just to high

I bought the plain SSQV and a flange to be welded on. Painted the flange after welding, it's pretty hard to notice that it's not HKS installed.

The price on the HKS intercooler isn't for everyone.

looks great but way too much $$$ for my wallet.

There is a certain satisfaction in knowing you have a purpose built part that's one of the best of it's type and of course this costs :)

The Cartech unit is significantly less on retail.

That is true, but it seams like waiting for one after ordering is like watching grass grow.

That is about how long I take between ordering Supra parts, so that is ok.

anyone know if the HKS BOV kit will work with the pipes that come with the HKS kit?

The HKS BOV kit would be a waste of money. Just buy the flange and have it welded on, it also looks cleaner this way.

HKS unit is beautiful but too costly for what I would want to do. I would probally go with the horsepower freaks option.

That doesn't appear to be an option anymore.

Is the HKS the only kit that's made to fit our cars? I want something as close to stock as possible so I don't have to relocate a bunch of crap.

yes it would work ;)
If those pipes arent made of aluminum then I dont see no problems welding a flange onto them ;)

i noticed a decent gain from mine. last summer it would get down around 50-60 degrees at night and then warm up to about 70-80 during the day. when it was night time with the stock intercooler, i could feel the diffrence in temprature. when i installed the HKS unit it felt like it had the same power during the 50-60 degree night during the 70-80 degree day. but i only have the intercooler, didnt get the pipes so i made them custom.

it works ok but i want to replace it with a ebay side to side thats bigger. the HKS unit is only about 2-2.25 inch thick and the core is about the same size. like it was said the benifit is the better design not the size of the core.

There are a few kits made to fit the 7MGTE. Offhand I can think of HKS, GReddy, and Cartech/AMS.

I'm thinking of going 1jz. I might be selling my full HKS intercooler setup that bishop92t posted with a Greddy Type R/S flange. Send me a PM if possibly interested.

That is one good looking kit, would you recomend someone buying it or building their own?
