Im going to pick up a 7mgte that comes with 2 r154's. SO i need to know what i can look at to visually identify that they really are r154 since i have never seen one before.

look for where the clutch slave cylinder mounts, on the R154 it uses a pull type clutch, so the slave mounts behind the fork, a W58 slave cylinder would mount in front of the fork.

okay, when u say behind you mean towards the diff and infront is towards the engine right..what does the mount look like so i know its the right thing

Here's a W58, see the two bolts where the slave mounts, they are in front of where the clutch fork sticks out.

Here's an R154, see how the slave mounts into the back of the bellhousing so that it's behind the clutch fork.

Look for the inspections covers/holes in the bellhousing, dead give away;)

well i really cant see the two holes on the w58, but theres enough differences that i could tell them apart, cool

I think his point was that there aren't inspection holes in a W58...
or did you mean the two bolts I was talking about in the picture, they are right at the front of the bellhousing.

Easily done, just see how much beefier looking the R154 is compared to the w58 ;).
