you could use a w58 on an 7mgte but its not going to last long.

No None of the trannys are the same Turbo Supras got the R154(5spd) and a tougher version of the a340e(Auto), and the nonturbos got the W58(5spd) and a weaker version of the a340e(Auto)

And yes you can use your Nonturbo tranny for your turbo engine, just get a good clutch if its the w58, and if the auto, don't beat on it or it WILL blow.

The W58 can be used on a turbo and should bolt up just fine. it will last for quite a while. The w58 is not weak by any means, just not as strong as the r154, but is fine for 300/400 Hp. “Clutch- the stock NA clutch will last about 3 weeks at elevated boost levels Your best bet is to replace it while you have it out. Stay away from Centerforce, as I have yet to hear a good thing about them. The RPS stage 3 (turbo carbon claw) didn't work for me either. I have had good results with my Clutch Masters Stage IV, but beware, it has very harsh engagement.” I got that form a ntoher site.Hope that helps.

Peace........
