Are you going to use a manual, or auto transmission?
If manual, it's about the same difficulty level, just a few more wires and some extra parts to worry about.

what about if it was an automatic? and which manual is easiest for the swap?

2JZ-GTE (with AT) in my GA70 and 2JZ-GE (W58) in MA70 of my collegue. Swaps took 1 month, but if i started it again i'd finished in 2-3 days.
I bought 2JZ-GTE with Toyota Aristo frontcut and 2JZ-GE were bought on yahoo.com.jp auction.
The main problems we met was:
- custom oil pan
- motor mounts (fully custom)
- 2JZ-GTE propellershaft (made with original supra shaft and NA-aristo.)
- 2JZ-GE propellershaft - original. W58 is from 1G-GTE supra, custom bellhousing.
Now i think to replace stock turbos with big single one and 2jz-ge seems goes s/charging.

can the stock 5 speed be used from the mkll? if so what modifications need to be done to it?

the 5 speed trans from a mkIII turbo car can be used.your just going to need 1jz bellhousing.ijz motor mounts, power steering resivour, inter cooler with pipes.search on e-bay,theres a few 2jzgte's on there

so a 1jz with a 5 speed would be the easiest swap? Where would you be able to pick up a 1jz bellhousing from?

champion sells them new like $360,bell housing that is

does the 1jz and the 2 jz use the same exhaust hedder? what are some good tuning parts for fuel and ignition?
tsuper92
07-06-2005, 09:26 PM
ijz and 2jz use a different dp,thats why trev has made a y-pipe/dp kit for ijz.if you need more fuel you can use jdm 440 injector's from 2jz(direct drop in).you can also use usdm 550 injectors from 2jz with the 7m resistor to change the impediance.you can use jdm 2jz map sensor to read 1.3 bar(ijz is 1.0bar).mkiv fuel pump.afpr.

LoL a what? An '86 would be a MkII, and an 86.5 would be a MkIII - BUT, the MkIIs were all NA, and in 86.5, they only had NA models!

i meant a 86.5 turbo mklll, but i already found the wiring diagram, and despite what most people think they did make a turbo model in 86.5 cause i got one and the vin#'s on the engine and tranny match out for the car.

superforums there was recent dyno results from godfelr.the car was on stock twins (15 psi) exhaust and not much more.he ended up with 374 whp 402 tq.i think he ended up retarding the exhaust came gear 3 deg(stock cam's with adjustable gears) and that got him 14whp

For you guys with a 2jzgte in an MK3, what oil pan are you using off what car? This has to be a rear sump oil pan in order for the 2j to fit in the MK3 if im not mistaken. Any part numbers for this oil pan? Is it off the jza70 1jzgte motor?
I have an '89 MK3 swapping in a 2jzgte with later style mounts.:icon_conf

The 2JZ MK4 or 1JZ MK3 pan will work.

Just making sure. Is that the JDM 2JZ MK4 or the JDM 1JZ JZA70?:icon_conf

you can use the pan from a 2jzge 2jzgte or 1jzgte with a rear sump pan.
USDM/JDM 2jzge & 2jzgte
JDM 1jzgte
My pan is from a 2jzge, put a post up in the mkiv section and you can get it for 100$ or less.
also you will want the baffle plates that go inside the pan, the pan is two parts and the baffle is one part IIRC
