SupraNick's 2jz runs on a 1jz ECU and harness.

I'm using a 1jz harness, but a 2jz ecu (aem) w/ an adapter harness..

it works fine
im going 1JZ now and will be swapping to a 2JZ later on and will be running on 1JZ harness and either 1JZ ECU or AEM

yes i'm going to run my 2jz on my 1jz sard ecu at first then switch in the AEM with the jumper hanress probably... Donno if I find i like the power and the spool of my 67 on my sard/emanage blue setup i may just leave it becuase I really don't want to rev the 2jz higher then the 7800 RPM revlimit it has.

So can you run a 1J with the 2J harness, so you could just plug in the 2J TT AEM to it!??!?

you sir are correct.
would you need a piggy back on the 1j ecu or can you run it strait?

I am talking about using a 2J harness with a 2J TT AEM on the 1J, so you could have a plug and play AEM and not have to make a feilds harness?
Would this work?

Heres what I am thinking. I currently have a 1jz with a Mines ecu/ emanage and 680cc injectors. Now if I swap in a 2jz motor and run it with just the Mines ecu. I figure with the extra displacement, it would run lean, but by using the larger 680cc injectors it should be close to even itself out without much correction. I am not aking about with a standalone, i mean stock type ecu.

that should work, but you might want something to monitor and control the AFRs

Some of the plugs are different (ISCV comes to mind) but it will work.

mines ecu can be programmed by technosquareinc.com, or anyone else that can do techtom programming.

Has anybody ever sent there mines ECU in to get tuned by them? I have a mines and also am running the emanage, i would still be interested in a tune from them.

it uses a techtom rom board. give them a call. www.technosquareinc.com
I had my 7mgte ecu done by them and it worked great.

all plugs are the same.. even the isc.. i checked the pinning, and its the same.. it plugged right in..
IMO just get a 1jz -> 2jz jumper harness for aem.. or just get a powerfc or something of the like.. no need to get a 2jz harness ($$) then then spend hte time pinning it out for the mk3 body..

that is so sweet. When my 1jz gets tired, a 2jz will be a nice upgrade. Then I too can be rejected like tissimo.

I dont really have to worrie about the body plugs, as i am doing a 1JZ in my s13 and i will be running a stack for my guage cluster, also i have a JDM 2J harness just chillin.
Well this was an awsome thread, lots of good info. i heard about the 1J harness on the 2J before, but never really confirmed it.
Anybody got a 2J for sale? :naughty:

It will work just fine. Supranick was having problems with a lean spot, but worked it out. I'd try asking him about it.
I would recommend going through the trouble to use all 2JZ electronics because the 2JZ has sequential injector control rather than batch fire like the 7M and 1JZ where you're firing injectors in pairs and at closed valve, among many other advancements found in the 2JZ computer.

I think the fuel is sequential on the later 1jz's like my 1992 gen 2 motor. It gets wayy to good fuel miledge to be batch.
It only has sequential ignition, not injection. You aren't just wasting fuel on one cylinder with every revolution anyways.

Nope, and the 1JZ ECU works very well. I just prefer sequential injector control and the 2JZ ECU for a 2JZ engine.
