At last something went to plan
well today my afpr (turbosmart t reg pro) turned up have to say just like the wastgate it is great in build quality and i eve gave it a home lol .
been bit busy also as had to drive out to the big city to collect materials for the uk gb on top rad hoses i am doing in stainless so a lot of time spent fabricating there also today.
also found a home for my oil filter housing and relocated my airfilter.
and last but not least finished of a third runner on the manifold woot woot

07-11-2006, 04:52 PM
yeap Ian is jealous, I bet he doesn't dig the red "bling bling" either :-p
LOL Yannis!
I use the Moroso race Filters once the motors broken in and I start revving it as they're a heavy wall can so less chance of splitting a seam. (and they're plain white so no bling)
group a supra
07-11-2006, 05:09 PM
excuses excuses what do you say yannis ;)
yannis-supras
07-11-2006, 06:27 PM
That's all lame excuses alright mate! As if our TRD oil filters won't take the beating...Is that what you're implying Ian? :evil2:
Yannis: Steve is talking 100+ PSI so I'd be hesitant using a crimped filter at that sort of pressure and being VERY careful to keep the motor under 2000 rpm till the Oil was warm and thinner! ;)
I had a stuck relief valve in a BBC Oil pump way back and it pumped all 15 litres onto the floor in 20 seconds!
group a supra
07-11-2006, 06:39 PM
good point on the 2k ian
yannis-supras
07-11-2006, 06:40 PM
Hmm Ian on a serious note, are you saying that the TRD filter design would not withstand higher than average pressure on the 7m?
Yep jazz the throttle on cold oil and you run the risk of popping the rubber seal at the least and bursting the can at the worst!
Either way it's game over and grab a bag of KittyLitter! ;)
group a supra
07-11-2006, 06:43 PM
ian i was thinking of the canton filter to match ;)
yannis-supras
07-11-2006, 06:45 PM
:icon_conf :icon_frow bummer!!! What about 60-70psi pressure? Would it still be that bad? I guess that's higher than average for the 7m still, right?
And speaking of oil pressure (right from your thread Ian :naughty:) would a 5-6mm washer be sufficient for shimming my pump for that kind of pressure?
ian i was thinking of the canton filter to match ;)
There's the dick size thing Steve ;)
Yannis: 70 is fine on any filter!
(same warning when it's cold though)
It all depends on tolerances in the Motor Yannis there's no hard fast rule to xxmm=xxpsi.

WHAT! Is everyone copying me and Ron now  J/K Looking good my friend! When is it going to be ready to rumble?!
The Burns is the best out there ;) One thing you WON'T have is the inconel tip ;) I ran the Burns last year but just bought Ron's which has a custom made muffler which is 19" long instead of the standard one they sell and had the tip extended to accommodate the special tip. :) (All V band as well)
PS: You have a res for that? If not (I don;t have one either) it will be loud! ;)
