Racing Camaros and mustangs

I have a friend with a 91 5.0L mustang that is bone stock and a friend with a 90 camaro IROC Z and they both think they can kill me (I have a 1990 supra turbo w/ 3in downpipe). Im pretty sure I can beat them but yeah.. how should I do?

i think youd beat em...depends on how yours and their driving is i think

You will beat them pretty easily. If you installed some 550 injectors and a Lexus AFM, and upgraded your turbo a little bit, you would destroy them. Mustangs are so freaking slow that it's just funny to race one. Let us know how it turns out................lol

Is the 5.0 a 5 speed? If so, and he/she can drive, you might be in for a surprise there.

Is the Iroc a 350/Automatic, or a 305/5 speed?

Either way, all the cars here are low 15 second runners, and will come down to who has the best driver.

as for the race...if both of those cars are stock...you shouldnt have a problem taking them...ever since ive ridden in a mustang with a 4.6 the 5.0 is a joke...

shim your wastegate and put an air filter on it and you'll kill both of those cars, IROC's are a joke stock and stock 5.0's aren't too quick either. when it came out the supra turbo was compared to the corvette from those years, there was only a 12hp differance

It's happened to me while in the back of a tiburon. We raced another SLOW car, and the cop didn't even notice, it looked like we accellerated normally, lol.

i've took my girls 95gt 5.0 out and it may not be the fastest thing on the road but it'd deffinaly not a slow car. it'll hold its own but it is modded slightly 2.5 duel exhaust ,cai ,bigger fuel pump so i don't know i think you will be very close so learn how to drive

I walked the hell out of a intake and exhaust 5.0 and a 95-96 model z28 that was a SS clone.
All I had was intake, hks bov, open 3"dp. I also ran a 13.8 @ 102 with a horrible 60ft 2.5
