installation of the msd ignition 6200

MSD 6200 is a MSD 6A. It is for cars with a distributor and one coil. It will not work with a 7m-gte. You would need to buy the DIS-4 to upgrade the DIS (distributorless ignition system) ignition system on a 7m-gte.

You could possibly make a 6A work with a 7m-gte but you would need 3 of them!

Big waste of time and money trying to upgrade the 7m-gte's ignition, it's pretty good as it is ;). Unless you're trying to lay down 500+ HP I wouldn't bother with it. If you still want to upgrade, check out the threads on 1JZ and 2JZ coil pak conversions ;).

the stock 7m-GTE coils have been good to way over 700 rwhp. The coils are strong and do not need upgrading.

^My bad. Eh, if he's shooting for over 500 HP he's probably gonna redo most everything anyways.... I'll remember 700 HP though for future reference ;).

MSD doesn't do anything to the coils....
MSD stands for Multiple Spark Discharge...I will do this to my next Supra,
MSD means that where your spark plug usually fires one time it now can fire multiple times per revolution of the engine....it increases not only power, but the amount of gas burned per firing of the plug...That can also reduce emissions, seeing as how more of the atomized fuel is being burned.
