well i drove 2 hrs to rockingham last night and the place was packed. i only got 1 run in and here is the results.
60 ft..2.2
1/8....8.2@94.92mph
1/4....12.4@120.28mph
i'm starting to get pissed cause i wanna hit 125mph+ in the 1/4.. the car is running strong but the mph is not there. granted i was running on a 255/40/17 street tire. i have hit 98mph in the 1/8 so i know i can do better.
Also, this was a full weight run, full tank of gas, spare tire, jack, etc.. I kept all the weight in the back for added traction.
what can i do to get my mph up. I think my plugs are on there way out and there gapped to like .22
I'm going to add a cutout to my exhaust, change the plugs and try to tune a bit better.. my AFR's were like 10.5 last night.
also i noticed that in the upper rpms of 3rd gear it seems that my car is running out of steam. is this due to all the stock head and manifolds?
thanks everyone

Where did you run before? the Rock may be a lot higher in elevation than your local track and a little slower. That will also throw your tune off. You need some tires!

drop the weight. drag radials. remove your front sway bar. adjust your tune.

tune will have a lot to do w/ mph. be sure to watch a/f when running open dp. ive seen that make a big change in a/f.
better tires and removing the front sway bar will really help get those 60' down too. often better 60' will lead to lower mph but a quicker et. generally 1/10th in 60' will net 2/10th in 1/4 et.
keep at it man!

you need more power for 125 traps tires make no difference in trap speeds, the only way to get it up is more horse power by the time you reach 580-600whp u should get 125 easily

theres absolutely no reason why he shoudln't be trapping 125 now and in the 11s. theres NO REASON with 543whp. his technique needs fixing.

correct; i have the horsepower i'm just not putting it down...
on the 120mph run my trap speed in the 1/8 was 95mph.. i've hit 98 in the 1/8 on lower boost..
i think my plugs were toast. i put some fresh ones in and the car is a ton smoother.

Upgrade that intercooler (i know you plan on it, i saw your for sale ad) , get some tires, fix that boost problem, and you will be there!

You should've come to the Etown meet last weekend. I told Brent to tell you I would let you use my Grey cars ET streets. Don't know if he relayed the message to you or not.

whered you shift.. in your last thread (1/8th) you kept it in 3rd and went 97 in the 1/8th.. maybe you need to shift higher?

Yur powerlevel will be tough for 125 trap. Once you hit some slick with the set-up thetrap will also drop.

i beg to differ. you ever run 600hp on a 255 tire. 0 TRACTION... i'm talking lighting them up in every gear, even from 4th just rolling on the throttle and already going 100mph.

Get some drag radials.. At this power level, your going to have trouble even getting high traps with the lack of traction. Especially with the poor track conditons at this time of year. I figure you got the 98mph 1/8th mph speed because you came off the line stronger on that run because of traction. I'm confident you can hit 125, but you gotta get the power down first.

i think if you found someone who was a tech at bilstein they could design some custom drag struts to help with weight transfer. that would really help with some traction issues. ;)

After traction, stand alone follows. It is only money.
