Is next to the oil filter housing under the power steering resevior. Its a round sending unit with a single wire going to it

If you decide to get a mechanical oil pressure gauge, don't you need to tap into that sending unit somehow? I will probably be getting a mechanical gauge and am not sure on how to tap into it. Which would be easier, the electrical or mechanical. And in your opinion, which would be the better way to go. Sorry for jacking this thread, but I think this is some useful info that we could all use. Thanks!

I would like to back up a bit. How do you know the gauge is out and not the sending unit?

no you dont tap the sending unit itself.
if you want to run just the mech gauge you need autometer adapter #2269
this will allow you to thread straight into the block in place of the stock sending unit.
if you want to run the stock gauge and the mech gauge you will need to tee the fitting. jon@mdcmotorsports said he carries them.
