thanks man.
i'm HOPING to finish it up this week and start debugging this weekend....and make the XS BBQ next weekend.
turbo isn't anything big, just a GT3582R. the manifold makes it sit up nice and high, so it looks far larger than it is.
haha very nice...i've always been a fan of ur work!

sure is. i don't like overheating. this is to be the "last" iteration of the MKIII that i will own...i.e. i'm doing everything right the first time. the car will probably see a fair amount of track time, so a big fat rad, oil cooler and PS cooler is def. necessary.

IIRC i gave the free dinner to my parents? i dunno....it's been like 7? yrs?

i'll see if i can get some pix. the only real way to do it is splice 2 hoses together. i used 1/2 the stocker and an "adaptor" hose i found @ an auto parts store. long term plan is to build one out of SS braid or steel.
for those that care, i managed to get the IC piping done last night. woooooooooooooooooooooooo. chances are fairly good that it will run this w/e.
Looks good Doc, can't wait to see it all done.

what kind of power / spool time are you expecting with it. sorry about the dumb questions but im going to be in the market for a turbo soon and i was looking at a GT30 or GT35. :1zhelp:
project looks wicked from those pics BTW!

according to the math, etc. the spool and power should be similar to what i had w/the SP57....just a touch better all around. too bad i'll never find out:

So what is it with you guys putting HKS and TiAL bov's on there? And what kind of radiator is that?
MK3Brent
10-15-2006, 09:57 PM
(I'll make a guess, but he may do it for other reasons.)
Tial makes stiff springs, so you're likely to surge on low boost shifts. Running a tial with a bov like the ssq (pull type) helps relieve this.
SSQ because theoretically the style of valve is unlikely to leak boost.
My tial's spring is so soft I don't surge much at all... and so far isn't leaking boost.

it does suck. got the offical word today, oil inlet totally clogged. so, looks like my oil filter was stuck open or thte line had junk in it (which doesn't make sense since it was fine on the SP57...). so, $900 to get it fixed....donations anyone? oi.

275s, same as i've been running for yrs...
