Over spring break (last week) most college students go to the beach or visit family. Me? Oh, no. I learned how to weld with a MIG welder and I created a 3" exhaust.

A nice view of the muffler.

I used nice 3 bolt flanges.

Oh, no! I'm not running a cat.

Finally, here's what she looks like.

Welding is fun!!! I hope to make a lot of interesting things as I get better.

awesome, welding is one of the things I've been trying to get into, but the lack of a welder and someone to teach me kinda sucks

I understand that. My dad owns the welder and just told me what to listen for. After that, he said "have fun". So, I practiced welding on an old pressure plate.

Pffft...I'd like to weld, but I can barely solder (sp)...

Looks good though. I'd like a three inch..........exhaust.

Looks good, I'd love to learn how to weld. I just need to find someone with a welder and then get them to show me a few things. Maybe someday.

Looks good man. Yeah welding is pretty enjoyable. I just recently bought myself a little MIG machine and welded up my hardpipes and exhaust. A TIG is my next big purchase after paint. I want to try my hand at exhaust manifolds. If you want a really good source of info. get an AMS welding handbook or a welding company book (like Lincoln, Miller etc.) They are pretty spendy new but have a wealth of information. I had two years of MIG and stick welding experience and have learned even more with one of those books.

Looks good, what kind of MIG welder is it? I have a Miller wire-feed arc welder that I mess around with, but I am looking for an upgrade. And yes, welding is fun! :)

Well done Drake! (Fun isn't it!)

I started when I was 12>13 and still learn something new everytime I pick up the torch.

I've taught just about every girlfriend I've had to at least make a reasonable tack with the Mig for those times I need extra hands!

OMG! Now, THAT's great! Every girlfriend, you say? I think I need to adopt some techniques from you because I love that idea.

Drake: You'd be surprised how many women love to do this sort of thing!

I had my recent one work with me for 3 months and I taught her to use the Drill press the Manual Mill the Lathe and various handtools! (She's an accountant)

In the early days it was the only way a GF ever got to spend time with me as I was under a car 16/7!

Oh, I really want a plasma cutter now that I can weld. It would just make life so much easier being able to make my own flanges and what not.

Thanks again guys for all the comments!
