I'll be updating this first page as I get more specific info.

Currently I have a caravan starting in Maysville, Ky which includes AWJ from SF who will be driving his TT SC300 and a buddy of his who will be driving his MKIV TT. They will be passing through Cincinatti, then going into Idny where they will meet up with Suprafied from SF, Matt with his MKII or MKIII or both(mkiiisupraman18), and hopefully Jon from MDC with his MKIII, Eriol with his MKIII, and maybe more Supra owners.
From Indy they will head to Champaign/Urbana, IL to meet me along with Carl with his TT GS300, Bob with his MKIII, Steve with his MKIII, Al with his 500RWHP MKIII and Trent with his MKIII. I may also have Brad with his MKII, and a couple other MKIII owners coming from here.

I would like to get some Supra owners from southern IL and from STL to chime in here. Maybe you guys could meet up with us in Champaign and go to Chi from here.

Here's a quick route map from Maysville to Indy, and then another from Indy to Champaign.

Pickup point/time in Indy...

Saturday, July 30th, 6:30-7:00 A.M. Indianapolis, IN
On I-74 West, just after leaving Indianapolis -
Exit 66 - Brownsburg:
Head North: Shell, Steak'n'Shake right next door to each other

The exact address for you to do a Mapquest is...

21 Maplehurst Drive
Brownsburg, Indiana 46112

Pickup point/time in Champaign/Urbana, IL...

Saturday, July 30th, 9:00-9:30 A.M. Farm-N-Fleet in Urbana, IL.
Just off of Cunningham Ave exit from I-74. Head North at end of ramp, Farm-N-Fleet is just ahead on the left. Turn left on O'Brien Drive, then immediately right into huge Farm-N-Fleet parking lot, can't miss it. There is gas and food right down the road. We'll allow plenty of time for you to get what you need done.

The exact physical address for you to do a Mapquest is...

2501 N Cunningham Ave
Urbana, IL 61802

Here's a link so that you can RSVP for the meet and reserve your spot on the dyno.

Yup, another MKII! It's actually the guy we ran into at the gas station here in Champaign when we got back last year. I've talked to him several times since then. He just bought another MKII that's supposed to be mint! I haven't seen it yet, but hopefully soon I will. Anyway, he's planning to come unless something changes.

Anyone have a suggestion as to where to meet at in Indy? We also need to figure out the meeting times...

Just a side note, I will meet anyone coming up either 65N or 74N/W (whatever it is) in Edinburgh (65) or Greensburg (74). Or I could meet those coming up 74, and we could cruise over to 65... wutever, I just dont want to make the trip by myself again. Lonely times.... lonely times....

Sorry I cut out on ya Grant, was fishing out in the boonies.... caught a 3.18# bluegill though.... :boink: He's chillin in the fridge at the moment. :icon_razz

Ack, sorry -- didn't even see this thread until now. I'll get to work on that.

What are we looking for in a meeting place? A good place for about 10 people to eat breakfast? I would tend to suggest a Steak'n'Shake, Denny's, or Sunshine Cafe for something like that.

As it now stands I'll be getting off work at 7:00am on July 30th, but I might be able to take that night off.

oneandgone
05-25-2005, 07:03 PM
Jeb, someplace near gas and food would be good. Also, somewhere easy to get to. There are people coming from Louisville and Cincinatti, so somewhere that's on the way for both groups.

Does this mean you're coming then? You never said for sure... If you can't get the night off we may be able to fudge the time a bit. You're going to be beat though if you go after working all night!

oneandgone
05-25-2005, 07:04 PM
Matt, no worries! I knew you were gone fishin, and felt bad bothering you anyway! PM Steve N and see if he wants to meet you somewhere. He's coming from Louisville with dbsupra and possibly some others.

Eriol
05-25-2005, 08:55 PM
Does anyone have a gas station of choice? If not, I'll look for good spots with BP gas stations. As of right now, I think the area around I74 and I465 on the West side would be good... on the way for everyone, and plenty of restaurants and gas stations in the vicinity. I'll do some scouting.

As of right now I'm planning on taking the night off and going, but its always hard to tell with my job - I couldn't say for sure until 2-3 weeks beforehand.

No problem, man.

I heard Shell switched to a lower-quality supplier a few years ago. Although now that I'm searching for info, the only info I can find says that Shell stuff has tested to be one of the highest-quality gasolines available... I wish I knew how to test this stuff myself.

put 2 gallons in a metal 5 gal can, light a match and see which one goes boom the quickest/loudest. Repeat with multiple brands/octanes. This should be testing enough. :evil5:

Matt, I worry about you sometimes! lol! At least you got it figured out in the long run though!! They are a pita to install, aren't they, just wait till you have to pull the turbo, big fun!!

Oh, and try not to blow yourselves up, ok guys!

mkiiSupraMan18
05-27-2005, 11:22 AM
I think I have the beast sold, so I wont get QUITE that far into it. $3500 for something I have $2000 in... I was considering turboing the green car, actually going to 7m or something J.... but I dont think that would be wise with school so close, and exspensive.

Eriol
05-27-2005, 06:48 PM
Hmm... a 1jz wouldn't actually be a bad idea in an MKII, I think. Your car is so light that the off-boost performance probably wouldn't be bad.

Update: We just added another Supra to the list! Suprafied from SF will be coming from just north of Indy with his MKIV, and meeting up with everyone there!!!

Matt, so you're no longer a member of the MKIII club? :wtc: Does that mean you're not going to post here anymore? I think everyone want's you to stick around!!

mkiiSupraMan18
05-29-2005, 04:26 PM
I cant pass up selling it for that price though. I'm still deabting on what I'm gonna do, something Supra related for sure... seeing as how I'm selling the 89 to buy a Metro, I think, to drive for the next 2 years since I'll be one broke person for the next 2 years.... I was thinking wheels for the 82, those black ones with the chrome lips, or going 7mgte in it, or something like that... any idea on building a 7m block up, price wise? I'm sure its more than I would want to put into it, but just thought I'd ask. And about posting here, absolutely. Sure no1 likes to hear about MKII's on this site, but people aren't asses here like on CS.com. That shit got old, real quick. :icon_roll

Maybe I could get an NA MKIII or something to drive, if insurance wasn't $115/mo for the 89, I'd just keep it, but that and me boosting from point A-Point B, gas mileage is kinda.... crappy... Long live the mpg's of the 82.

Anyone ever notice my posts have little/no meaning whatsoever? :dunno:

*EDIT*
I don't think I'm gonna dyno this year, seeing as how my intake/exhaust mods are non-existant... unless another MKII decides he/she wants to challenge me for bragging rights, or whatever, but I'm sure THAT will be settled at the tracks. :biglaugh: Just like Grant getting owned by an NA 82. :burnout:

Eriol
05-29-2005, 05:40 PM
DAMN, $115 a month? I pay $37 a month for insurance on my '87 turbo, and I'm a 24-year-old living inside I465! (insurance prices are significantly higher for people who live in Marion County). I've even got 2 speeding tickets in the last 3 years.

It's always hard to figure out how insurance works, though -- I'm happy that insurance on my '96 Intrepid just dropped to $125 a month, and it's a base model family sedan.

:boink: Can't wait. No need for strippers when ya got MKII's Eriol, no need. I hope it's an 83, I've only seen them on the internet and heard rumors about how they actually exist. I'll own one eventually if they do.

Let's see I've owned..... 84, 84, 82, 84, 85, and 89... I guess an actual 86 MKII would be required also....

I can't wait for July..... I'm actually looking forward to the drive up too. Hope everyone can keep up.

its actually like, 162, but I didn't want anyone to throw up the BS flag. Last year at Chi2k4 I did 163.3... But no papers to prove that. And it looks like Rain for 2morrow.... :3d_frown: Who made the date June 3rd? Come ON... SERIOUSLY! I doubt I'll even go to Louisville if its raining.... crappy, crappy week-end. That means fun in the sun for CHI2k5!!! :biggrinbo *hopefully*

Matt, I think it's an 85. I tried calling, but didn't get him. I think it's his office number maybe, so I'll call tomorrow during the day.

Jeb, when you pick a meeting point in Indy can you also get the actualy physical address for me? Then everyone can mapquest directly to it. Thanks!

Wes and Kyle, the guys coming from Indy could meet you somewhere along the way I'm sure. It looks like maybe Crawfordsville would do? What do you guys think??

J/k man. Also, I need to work on RT/ET's before Chi2k5.... 15.4 wont take much to beat, and my times were anything but consistant... and if I shift from 2nd to 5th, again, I'll shoot myself. month and a half-ish....

wish i could make it but my car wont be done in time due to all the go fast goodies i keep getting deals on and cant pass up... I might get one of my other 2 friends with mkIIIs to go and me tag along who knows....

Hopefully I don't get stuck behind him and have to wait for him to get up to speed. I hear it took forever last year...

I hear Jon (MDC) is going now, or so he said... maybe we'll have two Southern IN Supras there representin'.
I'm debating on whether I should... After I sell my MKIII...
A. Buy a RabidChimp intake
B. Rebuild my KX250
C. Just save the money

I've decided the bike is getting paid off $3500-$2000~= $1500 and I know I need to save SOME of it, cause like I said, I'm gonna be one broke brotha' for the next few years. Anyone know where I can get a cheap 2j/tranny/ECU?

MDCmotorsports
06-05-2005, 09:53 PM

Sorry, I was in a hurry earlier as supper was waiting! :yum:

Here's a rundown of what's going on, and what everything is going to cost. You don't have to pay for all events, just the ones you will participate in.

Saturday from noon to 2:30..........Lunch at the brat shop. Just pay for what you eat.

Saturday from 3-8 Great Lakes Dragway/Import Wars
Spectate..................................$15
Race, depending on class.............$45-65
Show.......................................$25

Dave and Buster's/Dinner 8:30pm-2am
If you want the buffet it's $25 prepaid, or $30 at the door. You could also order from the menu, but you may or may not be seated with the group.

Motel for Saturday night...
Comfort Suites Saturday night is $72.
They take extra care to watch the lot for this event. We had absolutely no problems there last year.

Sunday, dyno. Free to watch and hang out. I beleive cost to dyno is $30, but I need to double check.

Basically you could get off spending only the $75 (half that if you room with someone) for the motel, $15 to go watch the racing/show/etc, and whatever you spend on food and gas.

I can reserve rooms for everyone with my cc, but you will need to send me the money first. I did this last year also, and it worked out very well. If you reserve a room and decide not to go for whatever reason you must tell me by July 26th in order to get a refund!

Eriol

Hey if you're tight on cash you should sell me a couple of parts! Catch-can and cat-back, man -- easy $190. :)

Which reminds me -- if I bought a cat-back offa you, could you fab it with a flange so I could just bolt it up to the cat? If you need the flange, I could probably get my g/f's dad to fab one up.

OK -- here's what we've got for possible rendezvous points in Indy. All facilities are 24-hour unless otherwise specified.

On I-465 West after the junction with I-65 -
Exit 2 - East St.:
N: BP and Steak'n'Shake right next to each other
S: Shell

Exit 4 - "37 South": (Truck-stop type area)
N: Pilot, Mr. Fuel, Omelette Shoppe (greasy-spoon trucker-diner-type-place)
S: Marathon, Hardees, White Castle

Exit 8 - "67 South":
S: Speedway, Shell/Noble Roman's/Subway, Denny's, BP/McDonalds (the latter is not 24-hour, and their hours were not posted)

On I-74 West, just after leaving Indianapolis -
Exit 66 - Brownsburg:
N: Shell, Steak'n'Shake right next door to each other
S: BP, Speedway, White Castle

Let me know what you guys would prefer. I would personally recommend East Street or Brownsburg for their availability of quality gas and Steak'n'Shakes (which can accommodate largish groups).

umm.... after driving it today.... I say Indy should be skipped and we all just meet in Crawfordsville..... have X-number of Supras getting back on the interstate in Indy will be bad enough, then to do it all again like 35-45 mins later just seems..... silly. But thats just my $.02, I'll do whatever the majority wants. Maybe Indy isn't as complicated as I think, but to me getting.... we'll say 10 Supras back on, and getting back together will be a PITA, because the more checkpoints you add, the earlier the people in KY/OH have to leave, because people will run late, there may be accidents, and we, or I, may get stuck behind MKIII's. Also, How much time are you allowing at each stop Grant? If this has all been covered in previous posts, just tell me to read. But seriously, I think skipping over Indy should be considered, but this is from a farm boy. :icon_wink

Oh yeah, the MKIII will NOT be there, or atleast it wont be piloted by me. :sadwavey: O-well, $1500 was made, and my bike will be paid off along with other misc bills. Hey Grant, I forgot to ask, know where I can get a 2j/trans/harness cheap? I found a MKII in FL with a 1jtt, and am considering buying it to swap out. Then I've also considered doing header/intake on the 82...

Eriol
06-09-2005, 06:41 PM
Hehehe.... don't worry Matt, you guys won't actually be driving through Indy... you'll be hitting 465, and driving a part of a circle around Indy, and then jumping off on I-74. Brownsburg is getting back in da boonies. :)

It'll basically be the same route you took to go to IRP, just one more exit on 465.

Either way is fine with me. Skip Indy an meet in Crawfordsville, or both. Whatever you guys want to do. Really, we only need one or two people to stop in Crawfordsville, pick up Wes and Kyle, then hop back on and catch up to the others.

I figured half an hour per stop, mainly in case anyone is running late. If everyone makes it to the meeting points at the beginning of the time slot vs the end of the time slot the stops will be much shorter. Hell, it only take 10 minutes to gas up, get refreshments, whatever...

Matt, there's no such thing as a cheap 2J! lol! We have a 2JZGE that will be for sale soon. It's actually supposed to be sold already, but if the buyer doesn't come up with the cash it will be available. People are turboing them and making 700 reliable rwhp. It could be bought for a decent price. Hell, I'm tempted to snatch it for myself! lol!

100% now as long as the supra doesn't do any thing stupid.
Any who, paypal me a bill for $155 (dyno, room, and two people @ dinner).

PLEASE don't skip indy. Would be a good rally point for all of us, and nice break for the people comming from down south.

dude.... it's like 20 mins to the next stop. :ugh: But whatever, I guess it'll give everyone a chance to see what the 82 looks like, rather than just a blur. Maybe I'll have my secret weapon running by then..... heh.... MDC WILL BE :owned: ...

I'm sure everyone will want a peice once I get her done, me and Floyd are in the process of doing the swap now. Out with the old, just gotta get in with the new.

Oh, and watch out for potholes on 465, me and Floyd hit one in his truck, DESTROYED one of his new 20's. Is there a # to call to get the state to pay for 'em, everyone says there is, but no1 knows the # or who we need to call.

not sure how many of you are coming from out of town but the hotel is going to pull the room off and sale them at reg price so you might want to rsvp now before the price goes up

OK, to the people coming up 74 from KY/OH/wherever... Any chances of me meeting up w/ ya'll at Greensburg (exit 74) it's about 30-40 mins S of Indy, and if I gave you my cell, we could just meet on the roll. I'm sure I'll have noooo problem catching mkIII's on the interstate. :icon_roll But if ya'll wouldn't mind, I'd love the company.

I'm still around! Just irregular. Guess I haven't been getting enough fiber...

I couldn't get out of work tonight, but I'll try to sneak out a little early tomorrow morning and meet up with you guys for the caravan. I'll be joining you in my stylin'.. '96 Intrepid. :/ The Supra's making a lot of funny drivetrain noises these days, and I'm worried about her ability to make the trip.

See you guys tomorrow!

Chase vehicle? Eh?

Hehehe -- how 'bout this: if your Supra is slower than my Intrepid, you have to go home. :)

Why does everyone call me so late the night before the meet.... geeze.... I mean.... 10 pm...... c'mon guys... Anyway, Can't wait to meet up w/ everyone...

Grant, I got 3 walkie talkies for the group, me, Jon, and you most likely. It's a shame more people didn't confirm for Indy.... :nono: Indiana sucks complete ass, it's no wonder no regions claim it... people DO NOT go to meets, it's re-friggin-diculous! Anyway, I'm already pissed off today, and it's only 4:30am... See ya'll soon!
