found the website after being sick of the mindless, lack of information database they call supraforums

found the forum and browsed for some time before signing up. still a newbie with the 7m (due tot he fact i had the car in my driveway for abot 2 weeks, rest of the time it's been sitting at a workshop) so im yet to get intimate with said engine :D

Although I htink it was you I was looking at buying the 7mgte short block off a long time ago.
Ive got an 86 ma70 that i brought with no motor or box. iv brought a 1jz and auto for it, and just lined up most of the parts i can think of that i need to install it from john shannon.
im also a member on forums.mk3supra.co.nz with the same user name (and other forums like toyspped, toyperformance etc :)

there's a company in kumeu called "gaskets unlimited"
lets just say... don't buy their head gaskets

when i first bought the car it already had a bhg from the friggin monkey's that owned it grrrrrrrrrrr... gee 30odd ft lb should be fine :s

but i learnt my lesson in buying hg's so i just went hks this time round
if you did a little research you'll find that most that have bhg's again is due to their negligence and originally it was toyota man that screwed up the torque, the engine is fine lol so don't blame our engine k ;)

But ive just always wanted a jz... and couldnt say no when one popped up on trademe, and now that ive got parts lined up off john, im getting very excited :D

Hi mate. Weeeell in the planning stages of my new motor so you probably may be able to provide some input. Probably best to take it to my build thread. The new motor at this stage is going to be the same as current one but with Crower Rods and ported head but now starting to think about valve size, which head gasket to use, Greddy or HKS stopper and not sure what else to do with it.

I'm not 100% on your setup other than it runs LPG, has a TRD Sump and same turbo as mine untill changed comp wheel. Oh and your car is fast and tuff as :biglaugh:

How does it compare to the 35R? I am stuck for room (check out the later pics in my thread you'll see what I mean) plus for a street car the 35R seemed a good choice, I'm not aiming for mega power, the 400rwkw it should put out will do me

Yeah thats it hey, the thing I like about Melbourne the most is that you can get a good cup of coffee at any time of the day. Here in Brisbane unless you to go to the city everything is closed by 9 ! I've been here for 12 years and still cant get used to it!
