Fog Lights

I put on some 89 fog lights on to my 87 and now when I go to turn them on they don't turn on but my headlights brighten up instead. Has this happened to anyone else or do you know why it would do that?

i never knew you can fit 89+ fogs on a pre 89 bumper ..must look kinda ugly

Well I mean I took the whole 89 bumper and foglight assembly and put it on my 87.

search for fog light in advanced and you will find detailed wiring diagrams. From there you can trace your wiring and find the problem. My guess would be that the fogs aren't grounded properly...
