I purchased the downpipe for my 91 turbo recently from horsepower freaks.

Im having a fitment problem Im running the Titan Cat and Tanabe exhaust. When I use your downpipe the bracket from the cat should it be in front of your flange or on the cat side?
Also the automatic bracket that sits next to the downpipe, should that clamp to the downpipe? I didn’t have a clamp on it when I pulled the stock exhaust but I don’t want it to wear a hole in the downpipe. I have modded it to the downpipe (widened it to the 3 inch instead of factory)

What is happening is I have a rattle from the exhaust and Im trying to fix it. I cant find any pictures of an installed exhaust from the bottom. Only at the turbo…

My other question. I drove through the rain it off onto the downpipe while I was driving. The pipe has a white film on it and actually resembles engine paint when it has begun to burn off. Is this normal? Im thinking some cleaner from the Toyota headgasket escapade washed onto it. But this could just be normal…

If you have any suggestions Im looking to try to figure out why I cant get the rattle to stop… Heck the exhaust sounds great if it wouldn’t sound like it was coming off the car….

this is with a bic downpipe
I actually had to cut off the nuts and make the mounting hole just a bit larger and a tad higher on the bracket

Dude the area I live in has already been terrorized by a few supras....

Then there are the ricers.... I have already been stopped and checked... Its funny though because I just look at the cop and say, its all there count em cat resonator and muffler.... You have a good night now. Sir. It also helps that Im not 17 anymore... I cant wait till I tint the back 3 windows and go through that fun...

heh

I think I will drill the bracket out some the bolts are hard to get in there. (I just ground off the nuts)

You need to pick up a 3" muffler clamp and clamp the downpipe onto the transmission bracket, that will stop the rattling. You light also need to modify the cat hanger bracket a bit to fit around the larger 3" pipe, like isnms said above just enlarge the holes and it should fit fine.

Yep! Just did this to my custom pipe (it rattled too) and no more rattle :biglaugh:

Sounds like some of you are having the same prob I am/was. At the moment, I have some wire keeping it from banging temporarily. Does anyone have a pic with the muffler clamp installed? That would be great. Thx. :icon_bigg

Thx man. BTW, been sending some people your way. Seems the entire supra community still isn't aware of these great ddp's. :icon_bigg
