Here's a list I came up with:
You know you're an N/A owner when:
1) You or a passenger makes a BOV sound everytime you shift or let off the throttle. :naughty:
2) You push an imaginary NOS button and pretend like you're moving fast
3) You feel awesome if your intake makes a hissing sound.
Just a few that I came up with. :icon_razz

You are very happy you're an N/A owner because you're out cruising in your car while the turbos are "still" being worked on in the garage. And usually waiting for parts, or more likely $$$$$$ for parts.:biglaugh:
And on those rare occasions you do need to get under the hood, there's lots of room to work.

normally, i would agree. however, judging by what i've been spending my money on, i guess i'm a hypocrite. :( i buy go-fast parts with the money i've been saving for bodywork and paint.
however, to redeem myself, i have almost all of the parts that need to go on before paint. :)

you know you're a 7m owner when you look at your engine and know you should change the sparkplugs but won't because there's something on top of 4 of them...so you go buy 2 instead and stick them in. (that's what some dope did to my car before it came to me....)

probably lighter.... it is definatly smaller. is his a GT? i would think an extra 30-50 hp on tap could help a bit....depending. i know NOTHING about them...and would probably like them if it weren't for the name.
Whenever i hear it's name i think of the classic claim to being probed by aliens when they were "abducted"..... its just an odd name for a car...i dunno.

supra....turbo i would guess...(it didnt say)

When you cruise all the way back in the 7M-GE technical section and resurrect a thread that has nothing to do with helping other N/A owners.
You laugh because the guy who posted before you got banned for stealing TURBO PARTS!
Oh yeah. You saw a 1JZ a few months after buying your N/A and decided THAT was your ultimate goal.
And, you bought your N/A Supra without knowing what it was, you just knew it was cool.
You just found out what the "Sports Package" was.
You pity everyone with a stock Supra Turbo, because when you finally do install a GTE motor, YOU will have 4.30 gears!

you know you're a N/A owner when your friends notice a bit of a whine and you have to tell them its not a turbo spooling....but you wish it was.
you know you're a N/A owner when you have monster ground clearance and want to go lower, but figure its not worth it because you wont go fast enough to truly make puttin money down on suspension worthwhile ANYWAY.
you know you're an N/A owner when you think about how cool a gauge pod will look if and when you ever get a turbo under the hood.
you know you're an N/A owner when you think about sticking to the car you have and changing engines to avoid the higher insurance costs of a turbo, rather than just buying a freaking new car.
i need to figure out what that whine is sometime. i would assume the diff but it doesn't really sound like the rear of the car is making the noise...

Hence why I'm spending extra cash to install a 1JZ in THIS car. :D
You know your an n/a owner when...
you can take your time building your turbo project and still drive your Supra everyday :evil2:

you know you're a n/a owner when you look under the car in desperate hopes to find a LSD, check your vin number, and then when all hope is lost you realize you don't have the power to need one ANYWAY.
you know your a n/a owner when; every time you see a supra you see look for a "turbo" badge, in hopes there won't be one, and you'll feel a bit more confident that you're not the only one missing out....
and if there is a turbo badge, you quickly analyze the aesthetics of the car and judge it upon it's looks, pointing out every flaw in retribution of your crushed ego, in light that the car "looks much worse" than yours.
(ok well that hasn't quite happened as dramatically as i put it, but i don't like to see turbos when i dont have/drive one!! lol...and thankfully all the turbos i see are trashed.)

LOL I did the same thing looking to see if I had LSD!! In the end I ended up putting it in before I pulled the motor.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o233/da89soup/DSC01724.jpg
And the realizing you dont have the power you need to have LSD anyway???? For those that have not seen it yet!!!! I had it to the floor and the lsd and brakes were just to much for the na. I couldnt get the RPM's above 3500 the engine just bogged so I let out.:3d_frown:
This is right after I got the 391 lsd in before I pulled the engine and took apart the car for its complete makeover.

i love the fact you left the auxiliary fan in the engine bay, despite it being easily removable by disconnecting it's power plug...hahaha.
however i suppose if you're doing a quickie swap and dont want a mess that's the way to go eh? ;)

haha...right. so what can i do to stop it? i changed the fluid when i fixed a leaking hose. so hopefully it's gotten a little bit better. a lotta crap came out when i did flush it though! blah. lol. it was gross...

I'm sure no car expert, but I think you are headed in the right direction with a good flushing out. I'll have to have that done to mine or if needed a replacement power steering pump.
BlackMKIII
10-10-2007, 01:54 PM
I've seen hoses that were kinked and didn't look it. We went through 2 pumps and 1 rack on an 89 at my shop before we arbitrarily replaced all the lines. Noise went away as soon as the new lines were on.

I hear ya on that. I had the lines changed a few years back. Never had a flush out and with about 225K it's long over due.
