Does anyone know any tricks or suggestions for installing my door lock trim? I had my interior redone, and now my trim pieces won't stay in. Do you have any suggestions on reinstalling them? I didn't know that they just pushed them in when I picked up my car from the upholstery shop. There's got to be a way to get them to stay. There are no clips in the door to fasten to. Thanks.

Extremly strong double stick tape?
Why are there no clips?

they all fall out. you need new metal tabs that go on the plastic trim to get it to clip into the door.

Dealer parts. Left side & right side. Cheap. I just got new sets waiting to use for when I go into door to clean and lube all the window parts in there.
PS...use synthetic brake caliper grease for lube, it will last (stay slippery) the rest of the cars life.

Yeah there are metal clips that break just about everytime you try to remove the trim. I know the complete peices are pretty cheap from the dealer, IIRC 4 or 5 bucks. I dont think that you can buy just the clips, plus they would probably be just as much.

You CAN buy the clips. My dealer ordered one of them for me because of a miscommunication...
IIRC it wasn't much...
Odd, if you look at this illustration (http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/EPC/MKIII_NATO/291420/6703_1.html), there is no clip, just the bezel.. odd!

I see what you mean, but now that you brought that to lite, If you look down at the bottom of it, it shows the clips. Now which one is the one, not really sure but I think that it is the middle one of the three. Thats what the little funky X and 4 dot symbol is for that is pigtailed off of the part numbers for the bezels.
Again, I cant say for sure that its the middle one, but IIRC it lookes correct and the funky symbol is above that one. (90468-04125)

yeah. I believe each bezel takes one 90468-04125, and one 90468-04124, but i can't be sure until i look at one...

Sometimes the dealer won't see them, because they aren't in the 86.5-88 catalog, so if you go in, take the part numbers or ask for them for an 89-92.
