im new to the supra world and was just wondering what the diffrence is in the bottom ends of both motor. i know one is turboed and one isnt. i know that one is lower compestion but like are the rods any stronger or weaker or are the pistons that much diffrent. Just wondering because i was thinking about making my car an NA-T.

Rods: Same
Pistons: Bigger dish in GTE
Crank: Same
Block: GTE has oil squirters
2 x Knock Sensor bosses
Turbo Drain flange drilled and tapped
Head: Same
Cams: GTE has a different intake

You shoud really be talking to the guys in the gte section. We happen to think the car is shit-hot without the turbo.

I use to have a GTE... I upgraded to a NA-T with a T66 turbo, its nothing less then A M A Z I N G!! The T66 blows the shit outta that poor NA =) I have MUCH better low end and mid then my old GTE motor had!!! Keep in mind the GTE starts with about 150 HP while yours is 200! Good building block!!

The only differences betwen the two blocks are the compression ratio and the lack of oil squirters on the NA block. Both have hypereutectic pistons and pretty stout rods.
Hey Porterz did you ever get your car dynoed with that T66 on it before it blew?

hey guys thank for the help. and what i ment by the NA/T was taking my NA motor and puting a turbo on it. and i know about the whole over boost thing. i have built a few boosted cars in my days i was just trying to get some addvice about the bottom end because i have never delt with toyota befor. thank you guys and i will keep you guys posted on what i do. O onn other thing what the hp numbers you can get out of the NA Motors.

Forgot to mention 2 Knock Sensor bosses on the GTE and the Turbo Oil drain flange being drilled and it's mounting bolt holes tapped! ;)

i didnt know about the 2knock sensors but i knew you had to drill. but i think im just going to save my self the hasel and just get the GTE swap and build the fucker.:naughty: i dont know yet though. thank for the help.

I had never herd of an na/t. It was something I learned here. And I'm not playing the post count game dcrusupra87. I thought the dude had it twisted and I owe him an apology......, because it was I who had it twisted.
