Who will be the mods for this section? If you're looking for people to be mods for this section, I'd love to be one. Just putting it out there.

i think that the people that want to be mods for this section should be given at least serious thought by our admins

I agree. What better people to be elected mods on the N/A section than those that are actually N/A.

Actually, knowledge is only one facet of a sucessful moderator, and by far the least important.

More important are a thick skin, the ability to step back and look at the whole situation, the ability to decicate a large amount of time to the job, and last but by no means least the ability to get along with the members without significant friction.

and GrimJack hit the nail on the head with that one, you realy can not let stuff get to you, because mods will, from time to time, get called just about every name in the book, and maybe a couple new ones because you can NOT make all the people happy

ability to get along with the members without significant friction.
Very important factor. I'm tired of hearing "I got banned on SF because a mod didn't like me" A mod shouldn't be selfish and immature towards the members.

amen! somebody who is mature enough to basically brush any negative feelings they have about other members (and their cars) off before they walk in the door.

Grim,

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a moderator who drove an NA. That person would have to have good mod skills and a very THICK skin. But I think it will round out the moderator crew.

I think we often get caught up with turbo and forget that half of the MA70 idea is NA.

If you already have a moderator who owns an NA then I pull back my statement.

i dont think its a question on if its a n/a or if its a turbo.

you have to know a lil bit about the car. it history. its reputation. repair. harrasment. thick skin could be a good thing. but also being able to realise that some people come here for info not badgering, being able to realise when someone is giving a hard time or being a prick.

its about being able to watch a issue develop and decide when enough is enough. WITHOUGHT PICKING SIDES!!!!! no n/a or turbo. no, i dont like him because of what he did to his car, or i dont like his setup. no, he dosent know what hes doing and should just give up.

being a mod isnt a easy job.

and i give credit to all the mods here! each and every single one of you!
